Operation Ivy

I must respectfully disagree. Whoever played bass for Man-O-War totally shredded on their cover of the William Tell Overture. Plus, wasn't one of the guys from The Dictators in that band? Blackie Lawless, on the otherhand, was a grade-A tool. Aside from the sawblade schtick, which was boss.

Luckily I only got stung 3 times in 3 years, which for Hawaii isn't too bad. The first time was the worst because I had no idea what was going on - the thing got my left shoulder and I started flailing around like an idiot. Which helped for about two seconds, until it landed again on my right shoulder. I thought I was having a stroke. My friend Jeff once popped up after being hit by a decent size wave with one attached to his upper leg/crotch region. It was funny, though I guess not so much for him.

The worst sting I ever got was from a Portuguese Man-of-War.

It's coming along quite nicely. The last battle took place about 2 weeks ago. I finally enlisted my Dad's help, and convinced him that standing right underneath the gap in the siding (and inhaling 2 cans of wasp/hornet spray) would be a good thing for him to do. Two nights later, the little fuckers were taking off and landing again like nothing happened. Since the temp has dropped, though, I haven't seen much activity. This weekend I'm planning to jam a couple dozen tubes worth of caulk in there and hopefully suffocate them all.

I'm pretty sure I have no wireless card. I'm also pretty sure there's no way in hell I could ever install one. I'm basically only a few steps up the computer savy evolutionary scale from the people who buy the "how to sell my garbage on ebay" dvds from that bald guy who looks like Mendlebaum's kid from Seinfeld.

I didn't see them when they came to DC because I don't leave the house. But my sources tell me the band was excellent. My sources, apparently, also have huge man-crushes on Deniz Tek.

If only. I knew a guy who could have hooked me up, but...

Hmmmm, that looks pretty sweet. Now I get to look even less smart by asking..."how do I know if my computer has wireless capability?" Depending on range and price, I was thinking about the outdoor possibilities as well. It would be pretty sweet to have (portable) speakers on the deck/tiki hut.

Negative on the wireless network. I don't think I'm smart enough for that. My current set-up is just dumb, and involves me using iPod accessories (iTrip to various radios) when listening to music away from the computer...which is almost all the time.
