  2. Today, I am only listening to my own music. And I am ENJOYING it! https://hoponpop.bandcamp.com/music
  3. Must watched the documentary about him and the scene HERE. Definitely worth watching for a lot of y'all, if you have any interest or connection to the Chicago music scene of the 90s.
  4. I've almost completed my first new song (writing, not recording) in a long fracking time. The verses need not only lyrics, but a solid melody. But the chorus... yeah. "I Don't Drink" As simple a song as you can get, and damn near cliche country tune. But I think the chorus rings true, which you can't fake, and is a pretty good turn of phrase, too.
  5. In the 90s, my friends and I simply referred to him as "The Taper Guy" and we knew that, if we saw him set up at the soundboard at a show we were attending, we were in the right place that night! He recorded more than 10,000 shows in Chicago over the years, and his collection is finally being made available online. Read about it HERE. And access the whole collection (what's been made available so far) HERE. I cannot wait to comb through this stuff. Any fans of 80s-90s indie rock (and into the 00s), you need to do the same. I am certain that I was at man
  6. Great little EP from a KC band that featured future members of The Coctails.
  7. Totally understand. I do not get to as many shows as I would like to either.
  8. My draw: not great. But not terrible for a 54-year-old suburbanite playing a Wednesday night in the city. I think that I played pretty well. Got a lot of good feedback, including from one of the other artists on the bill who asked me if he could cover one of my songs. Always flattering! Hope to do it again soon; either at the Montrose or someplace else. (But I do love The Montrose.) And hopefully on a weekend.
  9. It's tonight, if you can make it! Hope to see some of you there - no cover and I go on early. Montrose Saloon is a great place, if you have not been there before. The room sounds great, they have a great jukebox when the live music isn't going, and it's just a good vibe.
  10. This is 2 days away. I hope to see some of you there!
  11. There is never a bad time for TSAC
