This thread makes me miss the Ramones so much.
I grew up outside Boston and they used to play Boston/Providence pretty much twice a year, every year.
Great shows and the coolest, most loyal, fans on the planet.
I need to purchase the Rock n Roll High School DVD. My VHS tape is absolutely worn out. Trashed.

I've only heard a couple of songs here:
But have yet to buy the album. It is certainly on my To-Purchase queue, however. Everything on that page is top-notch.

When my son was 5 and just starting to read, he spotted a rack of Ramones hoodies in the store we were in.
Son: That says 'Ramones' Dad!
Me: Yeah, it does! Very good!
Son: Yeah, they're pretty much the best band in the world.
I was so proud.

Of the ones listed, I went with Star Wars.
But there is a better one:
The Apu Trilogy
No, it's not a joke. And yes, that is where the Simpsons writers got his name.
Here are the IMDB links:

I'm kinda of overhwelmed by this thread right now. Who wants to get deputized to handle some of these?
By the way, whether or not you're "right" on your choices (most of which, you are BTW), this is still a lot of fun.
Thx.

Unfortunately, you cannot disassociate a band from it's shitty work. So, no.
The Ramones may have gotten boring and repetitive, but at least Joey didn't prance around with knee pads on.
Even given your point -- which I agree with, by the way -- I have to STRONGLY disagree.
And I love the Ramones.

Getting hooked on Monk can be fatal.
Mmmmm hmmmm.
Excellent article, Louie.
Although I must admit to reading only about half of it (it is long), I intend to go back and catch the rest.
Thanks for the link and for taking the time to put that all together.

I think it's "Fingernails and cigarettes a lousy dinner" but your version is good too.
You're probably right.
And thanks.
I was also searching for a line from "Left Of the Dial", because I know it has many. But I just brainfarted and couldn't think of any.

I just listened to Buhloone Mind State yesterday for the first time in maybe five years or so. Great album. Great song.
All I've heard are the first 2 albums. I love them both, so I guess I should pick up Buhloone Mind State, eh?

But, does it have that great book smell?
Reading is a tactile experience as much as an intellectual one. And that tactile experience cannot be replicated by a piece of electronic doo-hickery.

Sorry, it's #3.
I actually like a few songs of theirs. Inoffensive, well-crafted bubblegum pop.
