Anyone see him last night (06-07)? What a great show! I'm still grinning. You can tell that he really loves what he's doing. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of a setlist, I've tried to find one online, with no luck. In particular, I was wondering the name of the last song - the one he sang from the edge of the stage without a mic. Thanks!

This is my fourth time reading this book, and I continue to be amazed. I just read that David Cronenberg is directing a film version of this, with the screenplay written by Amis...It could be worse, but I think it will be next to impossible to cast. Especially Keith Talent. next up It's a shame none of his other books are as good as these two (except for his memoir). But then again, if they were, all I would ever read is Martin Amis and Nabokov.

Just finished What a book! I read it in about three hours. I think I'll read it again, just to wallow in the sick depravity. It's hard to believe this book was published in the 30's. I'm looking forward to reading Miss Lonelyhearts soon. Just started Not bad, but after spending a week or two with Flannery O'Connor and Nathaniel West, I keep waiting for something horrible to happen...

I read about 200 pages last night, and I think The River is the best so far. Can you recommend other writers like her? I'm so drawn into these stories, I look at the clock and think, "it's 2 am, I should go to sleep...just one more story first..." Is "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been" based on Hard Rain's Gonna Fall? That's the first song that came to mind, and I can picture her writing it perfectly.

I bought it years ago but have only read about five stories. Yesterday I started from the beginning and am reading it straight through - some two or three times. The Turkey is awesome (always skipped that just because of the title)! I also really like The Crop. What are your favorite stories (outside of the obvious "A Good Man Is Hard To Find?")

One of my favorites! I also really liked The French Lieutenant's Woman. I'm rereading It's pretty funny the second time through.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through and really enjoying it. Are there any Paul Auster fans here? I'm just wondering how this compares to other books of his. I'd like to read more of his books, but don't know where to go next. I tried reading Book Of Illusions and couldn't get into it.

I'm not so sure if this can be called an autobiography - most of it seems too bizarre to be true - but it's highly entertaining. I've been on a huge Werner Herzog/Kinski kick lately, and some of the things Kinski has to say about Herzog are hilarious! I also checked out Herzog's book "Of Walking On Ice" - his diary he kept as he walked from Munich to Paris. Herzog somehow got it in his head that his terminally sick friend in Paris wouldn't die if he went there by foot.
