  1. A co-worker suggested these names for the festival: Jeff-Aide tWEedy Fest

    Packing for the trip. Got my sun screen, bug spray, What Light Single cover singed by-JT, MJ, NC and JS -- just need PS and GK, sharpie, and extra socks.

  2. So excited for this weekend.. Before I head north Fridayt, I have my mid-year review and a job interview on Thursday -- so I really can't wait for Friday to come! Not that either the review or interview will be bad, just stressful.

    I had a dream last night that I was hanging with Jeff and Glen at SSF and Jeff asked if I wanted to go see Inception after the festival

  3. Listening to this as I complete my Mid-year review for work and took a break from looking back and rating the past six months of my professional life to say this: I fucking love him. "Numero?... Num-ere-oh? Nuremberg?." Classic.

    And I really like Pronto. Mikael should sing more.

    I realize this band evokes differing feelings and opinions by VC members. Some folks love them, some hate them, and some liked them back in the day.

    They put on a solid show last night, and they are hilarious. Last night was the only concert I have been to when I laughed more than I do at a Wilco or Jeff solo show. There were 3-4 stories that were priceless, including one about shredding a fingernail the night before at their CT show and needing to get an acrylic nail at a nail salon ("the folks there always look at you like, sure, just one today. and tomorrow you'll be back for the other 9 fingers."), one about meeting Mick Jagger, and one about a woman who came up to the singer in a restaurant before the show that night and said, "You are my birthday present." Evidently her husband had bought her BNL tickets for her birthday, but her statement implied something else all together. They created a quick ditty called "Canadian Gigilo" on the spot in honor of that story.

    The Old Apartment (particularly the heavy guitar sound), Million $, and Brian Wilson can give me chills, and the songs from the new record match up well with the older stuff. A fun show.

    I saw them a few years ago, and it was great. Is Steven page still with them? I heard he left, but alot of his classic stuff on the list. if not, how are they w/o him?

  5. I'm loving the North Adams extended forecast for the weekend! NYC is so f*ing hot right now! Can't wait to get up there!

    Oh good god it is so flippen hot in NY/NJ -- it's like walking in tar. 75 degrees and partly sunny? God bless.

  6.

    As to single day tickets, I think Wilco was showing respect for the other artists there by making it weekend passes only. Let's face it, most of the other acts are not super well known, and if they sold single day passes the other acts would likely not get much attention. As it is, I'll probably give most of them a listen. And besides, $86.50 for an entire weekend?? You'd pay that for for a single show by "the fucking Eagles!" (Nod to Lebowski.)

    OK, off my soapbox. I could not possibly be more excited than I am for this festival! :worship

    Amen sista -- this is my 16th Wilco concert, and the most expensive. And -- with only 8,000 attendees -- as opposed to the 15,000 I thought, it's gonna be outstadning -- a truly memorable, once in a life time type thing.

  7.

    Or on Oprah before she retires but that's too weird to admit to anyone in my real life. (ok to confess cybernetically to strangers though.)

    Would there be couch jumping? Hey, both Chicago folks, it's possible.

    I wonder if JT is sick of all the "melancholy" stuff. All these assumptions that he's a shriveling mess. Does he just wanna say," I gotta great job, great family... I'm ok... really... you don't have to worry. I'm good."

  8. If you are talking about bit torrent -

    If you look at this thread: Bit Torrent and Related Links Audio file conversion, How-to, Wilco show lists, etc., you will probably find some answers.

    Basically, you need FLAC installed on your computer, and then something that will play FLAC files, such as WinAmp.

    You can also convert FLAC files to Mp3 or WAV files.

    As far as I know, Quicktime will not play FLAC files.

    If you are talking about Direct Download -

    What you see at The Wilco Live Show Archive are files that you can direct download. Think of it as right clicking on a photograph online that you want to keep.

    All you have to do is click on a show, Autumn Defense - March 15, 2001, for example.

    Then you will see this:

    * adefense2001-03-15.txt - 433 b

    * adefense2001-03-15t01.flac - 13.43 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t02.flac - 23.52 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t03.flac - 22.56 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t04.flac - 19.92 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t05.flac - 19.57 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t06.flac - 22.50 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t07.flac - 12.45 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t08.flac - 17.61 mb

    * adefense2001-03-15t09.flac - 16.43 mb

    Click on each file, and you will get the Save File message. When you save the file, it will go to wherever you have downloads set to go to on your computer. I would make a folder with the title of the show and date, and set the file downloads to go there.

    You will need to have FLAC and/or SHN installed on your computer in order to listen to the FLAC and/or SHN files, as well as, something to play them on - such as Winamp.

    Thanks -- technolgy and I just don't get along!

  9. In 2003, Wilco opened a few shows on the West Coast for R.E.M. and the entire band joined Wilco for California Stars at Red Rocks. That show might be on Owl, if you're interested.

    --Mike

    Thaks for the tip.....Man, wish I had a time machine and could go back in time!!!

  10. Bummer -- according to Universal Trend-setter (all thing Scott McCoi) Peter Buck will be "benched" for Baseball Project at SSF, and Mike Mills will be pitch hitting. :ohwell

    Will my dream of PB and JT on the same stage ever become reality?
