  1. John seems to be the only one not heightful... he's slightful. Look like he lost some weight.

And I as I said in the tread about jeff's crankines, I think Jeff's sexy when he's heighty, shorty, slighty, fatty, skinny, scruffy .. you get the picture.

  2. It was a great show.. met some great people waitng in line and was blown away be the performance. At Least that's What You Said was a hightlight -- as was Jeff's "Douche-baginess" comment.

I wonder if people act like jerks (see fella who kept shouting "Spiders" after they played a wonderful acoustic rendition) cos they know it gets Jeff's goat and he'll pay attention to them?

Ready for nights 2 & 3 in Montclair!

Another nice moment I caught. I was right in front by the big security guard, and after Misunderstood, he turned and said something to Jeff, did not hear, but must have been along the lines of "That was AWESOME!!!" -- to which Jeff replied, "Thank You." Never saw anything like that happen before

  3. What's intriguing me is that some folks sideways life seems better (Jack, Locke & BEN!!?!?), while others are worse (Kate, Sun & Jin, Sayid) -- what does this mean for the conclusion? Discuss

  4. Speaking of Montclair, how does one get there from Manhattan via train (or bus)? The Wellmont website suggests no train service on weekends, but NJT suggests there is with a transfer in Newark. Inquiring minds would like to know what you guys think is the best way there. Thanks in advance for your help.

Try Glen Ridge or Bloomfield. I thibnk transfer in Broad St. Newark

  5. Cuban Petes on Bloomfield make great Margueittas, but you have to bring your own wine. There are some outdoors spots on Church Street, about a block up from the Wellmont. Parking on Church street, too.

  6. I don't mind this policy, which unfortunately had to be enforced because a few folks got alittle overzealous. We've all heard about -- or seen Jeff's comments about putting the camera down and just enjoying the show. From the numerous You Tube posts of the same show, it's obvious that this has not been heard. And I went to Catholic school and believe that bad behavior should be punished.

And, I don't know why, but it always bothered me when someone would take pictures throughout the entire show. Maybe cos I felt that they were missing the experience when viewed through a lens and not in real life. Or, the few obnoxious folks who are like, "Well, I'm taking pictures, so it's my right to stand in your way. My camera has a telephoto lens, you peon with a point and shoot."

And I never understood the folks who tape from like way away from the stage, or behind some guys head, and post on You Tube.

I pay an outrageous amount on Stub Hub for front row tickets, I don't need your from the shitty seats video.

PS I coined the phase "scary tweedy" and it stuck. It's like my 15 minutes of fame!!!!

  7. Kind of disappointed that Richard was not Egyptian -- but I'm glad that gave some answers without giving it all away. Very interesting concept.

7 episodes left... sad. :no But that Happy Town might be a contender to fill my mystery void

  8. Fables of the Reconstruction - REM

I Often Dream of Trains - Robyn Hitchcock (for most, this is Fall & Winter, but I first heard it in April -- a life altering moment*-- so it will always be a Spring album for me.)

    * If is was not for this album, I would not be here... probably still listening to the Police and Duran Duran

  9. Rik Emmitt (of Triumph - not the Insult Comic Dog, the Canadian band) will be playing in Pompton Lakes NJ for the Todd's Night Out fundraiser for the Tomorrow's Children's Fund. My friends and I are running this in memory of our friend Todd who passed away from a blood disorder and cancer in 2006.

    Thanks!

  10. I'm loving this season -- and so sad it's almost over.

My brain is not quite advanced enough to get so deep into all the theories, but the one I do have is the Jack and Sawyer will be the "protectors' of the island .. the new Jacob and MIB. I figure it needs two opposing forces. Jack was always a given, and with the real Locke gone -- it falls to Sawyer.

Regarding the idea that the folks who sided with MIB have a better alt. life, Jack didn't and he seems to be turning things around, and Ben defied him by going with the lady. I think the bomb worked, and all the suffering they experienced on the island was their redemption.

  11. I sent this to the mayor, dept. mayor, township manager, and some council reps. Who wants to join me?

"I am Barbara Morriosn, a Belleville resident but frequent visitor to Montclair. I am not a representative of the band, Wilco, but dedicated fan.

Wilco will be performing at the Wellmont Theater on April 2 and 3. Throughout the course of their recent tour of the Northern US, the cities of Madison and Duluth, WI named the band honorary citizens (with tongues planted firmly in cheeks.) While this act was done in the spirit of fun and good will, it did garner positive publicity for the two cities in publications and blogs across the country. (See here: http://host.madison.com/ct/news/local/govt_and_politics/city_hall/article_76f04cda-20d9-11df-9155-001cc4c002e0.html)

I suggest that a naming Wilco honorary Montclair citizens would do the same for Montclair. The city of Montclair has so much to offer -- from restaurants to parks to venues such at the Wellmont and Outpost in the Burbs, which give Northern New Jersey residents an opportunity to see great live music without traveling to New York City. This can be a great way to show residents that they do not have deal with the hassle and expense of going to the City to see their favorite performers, they are right in our own backyard, thanks to Montclair."

  12. I just bought a Volkswagon and had to listen to SBS on the way home. I am the stongest "SBS is Wilco's best Album" advocate on this site. I will bravley state that I like this album more than YHF and AGIB -- and willingly absord the numerous figurative slings and arrows that will be hurled at me for stating my beliefs!

It makes me happy, makes me cry, and makes me dance. And Leave Me Like You Found me is growing on me. I even like What Light.

Bring it on -- I got my armor to protect me!
