After reading this post I had a dream that Jeff put out a solo album, and there were all these black & white photos of him recording the album -- and all the liner notes were in Japanese.

I think I went to high school with this guy -- seriously.

I took a Stand Up Class in the Fall to help improve my public speaking. Apparently, I was pretty good and was asked to perform at a New Talent Night in Jan, and they asked me back a second time. Monday, March 29, 7 pm show, Carolines on Broadway in NYC.
If you are interested, send me a message and I'll send you the details. If you wear Wilco related clothing, I will add Wilco humor (only funny to other fans)

I like that song -- only one version though, Calvin theater, Nov. 05 -- Tweedy solo show.
-
I praise the Shuffle Gods when they select all my numerous versions of california Stars -- Wilco and Tweedy versions. Yes, it is a cover, but yes hearing Mr. tweedy sing, "Dream a dream of you," with sweet yearning does warm my heart (much needed in the frigid North -- Northern New Jersey, that is). I get your JWH love and think that ti is worthy of many words about a lovely feeling.

I think these resolutions are great --- as a one-time municipal reporter for a community newspaper, I can attest to how boring and unfunny municipal government is (proof -- a months long battle over leaf collection -- hand to God.) I love the fact that these councils have such great senses of humor. Maybe I should relocate to Wisconsin? Probalby not -- hate snow. Although I think there's more snow in Belleville NJ today than at the Winter Olympics.

No one. REM, Robyn Hitchcock and Andrew Bird all trail behind the boys from the Windy City.

haha, banter doesn't get more personal than that. I imagine you imagine a solo concert in your living room?
Yes .. and then he'd make me a home made deep dish pizza -- doing Weight Watchers, so now all my imaginings include pizza, or a trip to Wendy's. ooh, a solo show at Wendy's....

Okay, who clapped along to Kingpin.. admit it.. I'm not the only one.
Makes me yearn for March 31 .. can't I just fast forward the next few weeks?

7:30 is the opener

Rik Emmitt (of Triumph) will be giving a solo performance at the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge (yes, you read that right.. the Elks lodge) on Saturday, April 10. It's called Night Out for Todd and will raise money for the Tomorrow's Childrens Fund in the Hackensack Medical Center. (Todd was a friend who passed away from a blood disorder.)
If this sounds interesting, send me a personal message and I'll send you the details.

thanks barbkm,...isn't clifton the town where the sopranos was supposed to take place? lol,...anyway i changed my plans, instead of paying for a hotel i'm gonna try and get a ticket for the friday show also and just stay at my moms in west nyack,..its closer than driving home and i think using the money for that is well,...better!,...wish me luck trying to find a ticket i can afford!
Good luck -- and don't break the bank.
If you spend too much, maybe you could ask the bandk to chip in for gas money.

Do you have an extra bedroom for two folks going to the Saturday show?
Do you do windows?
-
I live in the next town, and don't think there's anything within walking distance (just drove passed yesterday on my way to Whole Foods). There's a La Quinta on Rt 3 in Clifton which looks nice, and a 15-20 minute drive.
Look for hotels in Bloomfield, Clifton, Nutley -- nice areas around the theatre.

Love my hoodie and the Wii-clo with their avatars. But my favorite is the pink one with a tree growing our if the "i".. unfortunately, most of the time I'm too fat to wear it. Hopefully, I can drop a few pounds in time for Montclair.

Do you have the banter scripted?
Something like ..."Hey, it's Barb. Hi Barb, how are you. Nice shirt. Would you like 20 bucks? Yes.. will you take a check? What song would you like me to sing. Hey, why don't we make that 30 bucks. I got two 20s, got change? No, ahh, just keep the $40."
-
I'm not familiar with the rarities, but I'm 100% sure HEis.
I just wish HE wasn't.
I certainly have mine scripted.
Ahem.. it's "she"

Is Blue Black Nova an insanely rare b-track I haven't heard or is it vc slang for Bull Black Nova?
Blue Black Nova is the demo version -- originally, the song was about a used car dealer trying to unload a large shipment of very dark blue novas .. "They're in the showroom, out on the floor. I'll give you a deal, let me get my manager."
Very different from the version on the album, more tacky, less dark. A keeper!

What about Intro Suggestions? I think "I'm Going Home" by the Sacred Heart Singers (Cold Mountain soundtrack) would be cool.
-
Not even remotely insulted. Your comment cracked me up actually!
Good.. that was my intent.

Those are realy cool pictures. I reaaly like the orange sillouette one.
I've just started trying to take nice photos, but have not figured on the 35 mm yet. I assume that's what you use?

Is it sacrilegious to say this is my favorite Spielberg movie?
