    A Cherry Ghost
  1. So many great memories of so many shows. My span of seeing shows what late 70s to mid 90s. Near the end the wheels were falling off, but every once in a while, on a pretty summer night, in an outdoor venue, Jerrys voice and guitar would ring out so sweetly that it was magic. There are many great artists but Jerry was special. Someone said he had a heart of music. I cried when he died and I miss him to this day.
  2. Can someone tell me about the Eels. I am uninformed.
  3. not sure if its my fav but surely this is one of the most beautiful pop songs http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...h&plindex=0
  4. Decoration Day is one tremendous song. It gave me chills the first time I heard it.
  5. prolly after 1-5 interchangable depending on moods. Anyone that looks at this can u tell me someone i might be missing in this genre? Thx Bob Dylan Jerry Garcia Neil Young Son Volt Jayhawks Wilco DBT Dinosaur Jr Elliot Smith The Bottle Rockets Lucinda Williams Band of Horses Talking Heads Pernice Bros Gillian Welch The Pogues Westerberg Neko Case Richard Buckner ryan adams
  6. A very good and thoughtful post. I agree with a lot of what u said. I think a little editing would have helped this album but its still very strong. Fav cuts for me The man I shot, 3 dimes down, and the righteous path.
  7. 1st few listens of BTCD and I like it a lot. I think Cooley is one hell of a singer songwriter. Some of his stuff blows me away. BTW, i didnt say the band was ruined when Jason left, I said the triple-threat was gone. It's a rare band that had three such talented songwriter/musicians Jason's new album is pretty strong too Dress Blues is a beauty Touche!!!
  8. You are right. DBT is a great band, but imo they were sublime on Decoration Day and The Dirty South. Jason did add a lot to both of those albums. I do hope the new album is all you say it is, but it seems a little early to declare it an instant classic.
  9. Come and feel me tremble Feel my marrow in the bone Summers past, it's too late to cut the grass. There ain't much to rake anyway in the fall.
  10. I just wet myself. Fricking hilarious!
  11. I think i have all the music Jay and Jeff released. I have seen them both many times. I love them both, but I do think Jay is a better song writer, and Jeff is a far better performer. While Jay might be a little more animated live, some times Jeff is downright goofy.
  12. what a sweet voice she has. I wish she would stop returning all my letters.
  13. too bad that an ego battle ruined a great triple-threat band. Jason will be sorely missed and if this album isn't much better than a Blessing and a Curse, I can see the band's decline. Peace
