  1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My email is GabeD@udel.edu
  2. does anyone know how to purchase tickets for the champaign show? i went on wilcoworld and the venues website, and still can't figure out what to do. thanks.
  3. in jeff tweedy's book of poetry, it's "laugh" not "life."
  4. my friend showed me this program that Verizon phones have ... if you put the phone up to the speaker while a song is playing it identifies it. i put it up to my speaker while "a magazine called sunset" came on, and it gave me "Cha Love" by Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra on the album Moods and Grooves. http://www.ubiquityrecords.com/mpeg/ur169_06.mp3
  5. haha my fault. i actually bookmarked it a few weeks ago just to post it here, but didn't want to make a new thread on it. i guess i should read before i post
  6. http://www.myspace.com/joshrouse this guy uses it for the song "lemon tree." it's a little slower than the one wilco uses though
  7. sorry, but is there any way to get this show besides trading for it? like on the owl and the bear or something? that setlist looks awesome
  8. cool article. but i've got a question about this line - "the mythic record that was sold twice to the same company and contained prescient details about September 11th. (The story has been written many times elsewhere if you haven’t heard it)." what prescient details about 9/11? does he just mean the couple of lines from "jesus etc?"
  9. cool, thanks a lot for the help. i listened to the whole show today in between classes. the whole concert sounded pretty good and seemed like it was a lot of fun. and sorry about not finding that older thread
  10. i'm sorry, i know this has probably been discussed, but i couldn't figure out how to search for a date. anyway, i was wondering what band(s) back jeff at the 2.24.07 show? i couldn't find the show at wilcobase.com i downloaded the show from here - http://www.owlandbear.com/wilco-archive/ and the setlist with the bands can be found here - http://owlandbear.com/downloads/20070224_t...lacf/README.txt i know that some of the band names are jokes (ie 'the family gardeners'). are these just fans that got to play along with tweedy? thanks for any help
  11. that's a cool instrument. anyone have a video of them playing it live? i have 2 live audio versions, but no video. i guess glenn uses one hand for the drums and the other for the dulcimer.
  12. the high pitched thing? i am pretty sure that's just a guitar played high up on the neck. the ticking thing at the beginning of the song is pretty strange. i'm not sure what that is. edit: ^^ yeah, nevermind. i think you're right.
  13. i think it was a line from a poem in his book "adult head." i returned it to the library, but i think the title was "unlikely japan." i guess this might not count since it wasn't a song, but it still shows he keeps cool phrases/lines for awhile. also "american aquarium peeping tom" was used in in an early version "radio cure." i know there's at least a few more.
  14. i think those are entirely different songs. jeff acknowledged that he "recycles" lyrics (ie. "down by the old mainstream," and "impossible germany, unlikely japan"). i once knew like 4 or 5 examples, but i can't remember them now.
  15. Is Lets Hear It For Rock and Roll an early version of Let's Not Get Carried Away? They were introduced over 10 years apart (one was on the A.M. Demos and the other was a bonus song on SBS). They seem pretty similar to me.
  16. yea, i think they meant to do that, so you can't put it onto a CD and distribute it. at least that is my guess.
  17. Ryan Adams and Jeff Tweedy HAVE to collaborate sometime. I get it ... some people here (a Wilco message board) will undoubtedly hate Ryan Adams, but he is a genius. It's the same thing, just reversed over at ryanadamsarchive.com. Nonetheless, I think they are too talented to ignore each other. They both pioneered the genre of alt-country (though this genre might not even exist), they are both known to be tough to work with(though they both have become much more mild recently), and both are constantly compared to each other. Ryan Adams is more of a minimalist. His closest thing to "Yank
