  1. Yeah, fair comment. That was a nice package. There was a great Vinyl version in the Eels store recently with lots of extra goodies. Very pricy though. G.
  2. Listening back it's not as bad an album as I first thought. It is very messy and too long. Tracks like 'Highly Suspicous' work alot better live. The lyrics are very poor on a few tracks (Librarian, Two Halves and Thank You Too). I supposed if you were to list the best MMJ tunes of all time not many of the songs on this album would make it....Maybe 'Touch Me Pt 2', but thats it. By comparison, if you look at 'Z' it's much more consise, with no filler. That's why I think 'Z' is their best album to date. Quality control. G.
  3. Tracklist and Album art-work are now up on the Eels website. Not too sure about the album cover, but apart from 'Electro-Shock Blues', they've all been pretty average designs. Looking forward to the new tunes though. G.
  4. 'Paul's Song' is a seriously good tune. Can't wait for him to come backto the U.K for a more extensive round of shows. You can pick up 'Bean Vine Blues #2' on i-tunes U.K. Nice tune. I would also recommend getting 'Lazy Days' off i-tunes if your looking for nice M. Ward non-album tracks. G
  5. A Ghost Is Born. 'Muzzle of Bees', 'Hummingbird', 'Handshake Drugs', 'Wishful Thinking' and 'Company in my Back' is an amazing runs of songs back to back. The only song I have no time for is 'I'm a Wheel' but I actually think the album needs that song on it even if I don't like it myself. G.
  6. Roger Waters (Performing 'The Wall' in Berlin 1990) Neil Young (Finsbury Park early nineties) The Jayhawks (At the Borderline Club in London, early nineties) My Morning Jacket (Manchester Acadamy 2008) Bob Dylan (Brixton Acadamy 1995?) That Dylan show was amazing. Elvis Costello was support. Of the current acts I would definately say My Morning Jacket, along with Wilco, are the best around. G
  7. Got to go for 'Okonokos' by My Morning Jacket. The DVD of the show is pretty amazing too. Other than that 'Second's Out' by Genesis. 'Seconds Out' is due to be re-released shortly in a Live Boxset along with 'Genesis Live', 'Three Sides Live' and 'The Longs/Shorts', similar to the recent Genesis boxsets. There will be an SACD and an extra disk of goodies. G.
  8. This is probably not the best thing to admit as a first post but...... Marillion were, and still are, a class group. They seem to be the definition of 'uncool' for some reason. In a similar vein Genesis seem to get a lot of stick and could be viewed as a 'guilty pleasure'. However, their early albums (Trespass - Lamb) are great. G.
