  1. Alright, I misspoke -- not available in Charleston (at least the last time I checked).
  2. Jacksonville's downtown has had a huge influx of condos along the waterfront, so they've had to beef up security. You can walk anywhere, within reason. It's not available in South Carolina. However, you can see my Christmas decorations from my front yard last year if you typed in my address.
  3. ... or the way Tweedy pronounced it, "da TOtal Proze."
  4. It might be hard to move that fast with a full pair of underwear.
  5. The hotel is located off I-526, if that gives you any indication. It's about 7 blocks away according to Mapquest.
  6. Nope. She babbles for the whole freakin' concert. Good call about sounding like On the Beach. I get the feeling that Nels had a good deal to do with the "coloring" of these songs.
  7. My office is about a half-mile from the Theatre. I was thinking about wandering over there and taking a shot, but not sure when it would be.
  8. Following the writer's tagline to her bio has an interesting surprise at the top.
  9. Of course, the St. James Inn (521 W. Bay St.) is close and would be an interesting experience. Think accommodations (and clientel) similar to Elwood Blues' accommodations.
  10. There are a number of hotels from Super 8 to Days In and LaQuinta a few exits south of downtown on I-95 (I wouldn't go north of downtown unless you're by the airport). In either case, cost of cabfare may wipe out a good portion of your hotel savings. In most cases you're 5-7 miles outside of downtown. Cabs can soak you $60+ from the airport. I have an extra ticket at the moment, but haven't decided to sell it. No one has clamored for it.
  11. Depends on how much you want to spend. There's a Hyatt-Regency on Bay Street -- about 2.5 blocks from the Theatre. There's also the Jacksonville Omni, with is a little more than a half-mile west. Both fairly pricey. There are several hotels on the South Bank, which would be a decidedly longer walk.
  12. I have a copy that I dubbed from a VHS tape in the mid 1980s. I just remember Billy Preston being like a ray of sunshine. Maybe McCartney has cause to want to keep this under wraps. This movie, and his handling of the breakup really turned me off on him. Another Beatles-oriented tape that I would love to see rereleased is the Compleat Beatles, a mid-80s, 90-minute documentary that makes a great companion piece to "All You Need is Cash."
  13. London Bridge Eatery & Pub, 100 East Adams St. -- it
