Okie State almost beat UT in Austin, the Horns won by 4 I believe and couldnt stop Kendall Hunter
also OU beat Okie State..... in Stillwater...... by 20 points
-
he can still get outs if he is only hitting 91-92 but he would obviously rather be able to hit 95ish....I still think he would do really well with the Mets, the NL hasnt seen him much either so I think he would have a good year in 09, probably 45 saves or so
-
I can live with the contract, but I dont love the signing. I am arguing with other Mets fans right now who think he is the greatest reliever since Dennis Eckersley. I remember someone posted stats of something like 10 relievers last year without names and without save totals? And it was impossible to pick K-Rod out? Does anyone still have that? Or know where I can find it? Would help me win the stupid fight I am in. Thanks.
what worries me about K Rod is his velocity, he was only hitting 91-92 late in the year, his slider is awesome but that velocity needs to get better, also those mechanics have always worried me but he has held up this long, he is worth the risk though and the Mets REALLY need a closer
I might be alone here but I think Marmol is going to dominate in 2009 as the closer and I think Samardzija could become a very good set up guy

I wouldn't call Dave Stapleton the greatest Red Sox in history, but yes.
What about Calvin Schiraldi?
-
Well, shit, I didn't know Peter Gammons had an angle on this.
Yeah they had a big conversation on Baseball Tonight about it
-
I have have never heard Peter Gammons say Dustin Pedroia is a Boston Red Sox....Red Sock sure
again splitting hairs but I think I got ya this round, I upset you.... its like a 15 over a 2 in the Dance
Not splitting hairs when one is wrong and one is correct.Yes.
No.
Yes.
It does sound wrong; doesn't mean it is.
Well, they're idiots. What can I say?
-
should be 'Sox'.
FYI
I was wondering about that but doesnt Sox mean multiple? Like Harold Baines, Warren Newson, and Ron Karkovice played for the White Sox.......and doesnt Sock mean one guy? Like Dan Pasqua was a White Sock....the phrase "I'm a Chicago White Sox" just sounds funny
I would say this is the definition of splitting hairs but to each their own

Nobody will take Young, a huge contrats for a SS with limited range and a singles hitter, he is a good player and clutch hitter and a good club house guy but I dont know why my Rangers gave him so much money.....I have heard Ozzie really likes him and wants him as a White Sock to play 2nd with Alexei Ramirez at SS
if Texas is able to trade Young than Elvis Andrus will start at SS who had 54 steals in AA last year and will bat leadoff right away
-
Santo should be in the HOF I think, 3rd base is pretty thin all time and he really stands out
Also, Wood was very good last year, he would be a good fit with the Tigers, Im excited to see Marmol dominate the NL this year as the Cubs closer
-
Laird is a solid vet catcher, he is good behind the plate and a good clubhouse guy, they were able to trade him cuz the Rangers have 3 young catchers they are high on in Salty, Taylor Teagarden, and Max Ramierz who might be the best of the bunch but is still young, Texas is still trying to trade Salty to the Bo Sox......good trade by my Rangers, anyone who can pitch is always welcome...unless its like Chan Ho park

Greg Maddux to announce his retirement on Monday.
Hall of Famer?
-
Too late...Franchione already did that.
nah, cmon you guys are in Texas and you are breathing, the right coach comes in there and in 3 years you can contend for the Big 12 year in and year out
When you fire Sherman in two years go get Turner Gill
-
Every now and then I watch this Quentin Coryatt hit and dream of the glory days of the wrecking crew
I remember that hit, A&M had some great defenses back then
Bill Byrne was our AD here at Nebraska for a long time, he is a pretty good AD, he got A&M Rob Childress who is a great baseball coach and Turgeon who is a good basketball coach but I dont know WTF was Byrne thinking by hiring Sherman......He could be your Bill Callahan and run your program into the ground completely

I will say Florida by double digits and OU closer than the experts think, its going to be cold as butt in KC tomorrow night and OU will run the ball more then they have the last few weeks I think, plus Mizzou is going to do everything they can to keep Bradford and OU's offense off the field, this game reminds me a lot of the Big 12 title game in 2003 when OU played K State and OU was favored by like 9327 points and KSU kicked their asses up and down the field at Arrowhead, this Missouri team is very similar to that K State team, Missouri has really underachieved this year and is probably better than their 9-3 record, but I will still say OU 42 Mizzou 32

Pryor would be a prefect fit in Richer Rod's offense, I was shocked he went to Ohio State
-
The Giants really needed bats but I agree they overpaid for Renteria, a friend of mines little brother played with one of their prospetcs (Connor Gillaspie) in high school
They have such a surplus of starting pitching, You just arent going to score much when guys like Aaron Rowland are expected to carry the lineup, Im surprised they arent shopping Matt Cain for a bat
-
Lowe would be a great fit in Philly, ground ball pitcher in a hitters park = a great fit....I would be shocked though if Lowe doesnt end up back on the Red Sox...or the Yankees

How Ryan Mallet got out of the evil hands of UT I dont know, if McCoy leaves early UT could struggle on O next year
-
I really enjoy Khalil Greene and hopefully a new team will flip the switch with him but I do hate the Cardinals
-
Arkansas should be pretty good next year and one of the most improved teams, no reason they shouldnt win 8-9 games
-
I think Petrino can and will win at Arkansas if he stays put for 4-5 years, I think he will do really well with Ryan Mallet, Petrino is obviously recruiting well landing guys like Darius Winston, Knile Davis, Neal Barlow, Colby Berna, etc etc and he is locking up the state of Arkansas which is key, only big name recruit they have lost is Derek Johsnon

snow blower? I barely even know her!
haha ZINGGGGGGGGGGG
I lol

Didn't Brian Kelly come out and say he was staying at Cincinnati? That they are building new facilities, etc.
I take any comments like that with a grain of salt, especially from Kelly who's Dad was a politician in the Boston area, we will see how far the apple falls from the tree moving forward
-
I dont see how Petrino can be taken seriously if he goes to Auburn, that guys resume would cover the state of Alabama
Brian Kelly would be a good fit at Auburn

Fuentes is very underrated as well, Soria in KC is good but there are rumors he will end up in their rotation soon
