Ha! IDK why you're surprised. I've always loved CJ since Trinity Sessions came out in 1988.

Rich was doing reggae and i figured all the Dead/jam-band adjacent fans would do the same... didn't know CJ were also playing.

i went to Iggy instead! choices are good.

I grew up as a huge fan of The Who.  I think I've seen four "farewell tours."  I thought about going but decided against shelling out the $$$ for a ticket at United Center.  Friends of mine who went had a good time and I had a tinge of regret, but I've seen them live many times and prefer to remember them when they were a bit closer to their prime.  While I rarely listen to any of their music these days, I think I've never loved a band more than I loved The Who when I was young.  Long Live Rock.

i felt the same way... saw them in 82 and 89 and a few times after that. just didn't think i needed to see them once last time, esp w/ Roger being a dickhead lately. still, heard it was a good show, but i've seen all those songs played already.

  3. i've gone to all of the previous ones but had already booked the Modest Mouse cruise w/ my partner who isn't a Wilco fan and wasn't so jazzed during their shows two years ago. i am a bit miffed there are so many dupes... Waxahatchee, Dr Dog and Yo La Tengo (though i do like them a lot), plus Dinosaur Jr plays all the time. not much unique about this one i'm afraid.

I would expect it to be around $2k per person

they went up... it's more like $2500 for the cheapest, 4 day stay and more if you want to tack on day on either end.
