Oh lol yeah I’m always jealous of Boston’s early show times. I’m seeing Interpol on Sunday
not when i have a 7:30AM meeting!
they got on at 9:45 at a venue i'd imagine the usual curfew is 11PM.- 1

i saw Interpol last night.
they must think Boston is NYC since they played until 11:30. not even Trey's band played that long last weekend!

Agreed wholeheartedly! Was not familiar with Rosali, but commented was most impressive opener I’ve seen in years. And Destroyer- what a band- 6 piece that was locked in the whole show. And sweet sweet Bejar! A really beefed up sound compared to the records!
i saw Rosali open for HGM last year but it was just her and Emily Robb; having a band behind her was a big improvement. and the sound that Dan's band got going was tremendous! i def should have worn ear plugs...

anyone in the Boston area should note that Jon Langford and Sally Timms are playing w/ The Sadies at the very intimate Atwood's Tavern this summer, two shows.

anyone who has a chance to see the Destroyer/Rosali show, go. pls, take my word for it, it's a great pairing and two bands at the peak of their powers.

no idea but i chose to purchase via bandcamp so the digital files are available in my bandcamp collection.
-
not that Wilco is the loudest band but i would figure that the noise level would be intolerable for a dog.

who brings a dog to a rock concert?

true i am just being a bitter bostonian.

of course they would prioritize NYC over Boston...

Still available on their bandcamp (I was going to wait a but pulled the trigger just in case it sells out there too.)
thanks for mentioning that... i wanted the black version and getting it via bandcamp is better as all the songs will be added to my collection. and it is a little cheaper. score!

What was the reason for the Priest cancelation?
Non-Covid related was in the email i got from the publicist... i heard laryngitis as Rob apparently struggled on the show Saturday.

You won the night.
Priest always puts on a good show but this MSSV trio that Watt pulled together is dynamite. drummer Stephen Hodges played on Tom Waits records along w/ a bunch of other stuff and Mike Baggetta was insane on guitar. only downer was missing Trinary System, Roger Miller's new band. but i chatted up both of them and got a shitty selfie with these two legends.

I saw the 'final' (we've seen this play out before... The Who are in town next week after their farewell tour was in 1982) tour from Kikagaku Moyo last night.
they are good and i like them but i wouldn't put them in top-tier psych bands from japan (tbh, that's a pretty lofty bar to clear) and i can't figure out how they got so much more popular than the rest of those bands. seems like they resonate pretty well with the younger crowd; maybe it's because they don't go for the throat too often and spend a good chunk of their time w/ playful jams, which is one of my critiques. they are pleasant enough but never edge into that 'holy shit' territory too much. the sitar/keyboard player gets a lot of attention because you don't see an electric sitar much and he can rip on it, but the bass player is the hidden MVP of that band imo.
good value at the merch table though; $25 for LPs. and speaking of that... i was in line during the show and two people took at least 7 min each to decide on what size shirt to buy... i really hope they are at peace with that monumental decision today.
Headroom were great! i do regret not getting a record from them but next time. and i still need to see Mountain Movers. Krissie's guitar skills are legit and i loved the tone and feel of her solos, sometimes sounding like a trumpet. excellent repetitive mantra groove to get the sounds going; it's interesting how the Velvets influenced so many bands who took it into many different directions. you could map out parallels between the VU and Headroom, Dadamah, Galaxie 500 etc pretty easily but they all sound pretty differently as well.
