Jon Langford & Sally Timms. Live at a cider house in Fennville, Michigan (where, coincidently I'm on vacation) !
nice!
Congrats I was waiting to see who the first post covid entry would come from! I was supposed to see Richard Thompson but it got rained out and I couldn’t make the make up date. Don’t think I’ll get another one in this year!
if we can backdate it, i saw a drive-in show with Blue Oyster Cult in July.

This is a lovely thing to read first thing this morning. Great way to start my day. Thank you, Isaac.
100% agree. lovely post, esp this part:
i need to keep that in the forefront of my mind more often.

Drivin' on 9 is a song by Ed's Redeeming Qualities, who also wrote the definitive song about lawn darts.

Here's a nice little profile of my good friend (and resident Wilco shooter) Zoran Orlic featuring a bunch of Wilco photos. Congrats Z!

Neil Young:
Mogwai (i guess it's debatable about how well known they are, but this song is one of their best and has only appeared on a record label compilation)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxkj613b1U0Radiohead (they have tons of great b-sides)

You’re right! I have it on a Stones compilation, so of course they didn’t attribute it to Mick alone.
Ya learn something new every day.
You should watch _Performance_ if you haven't seen it. Great movie. Keef got pissed at Mick for the nude scenes he did w/ Anita, who was Keef's squeeze at the time. Nicolas Roeg is a great director.

The Who - Cut My Hair
This might sound stupid but I think that’s my favorite Who song.
-
Good topic.
Stones - Memo From Turner
Bruce Cockburn - The Light Goes On Forever
Phil Ochs - Song Of My Returning
Memo from Turner came to my mind immediately but it's a Mick song, right?

I saw a recent post from Tim (tinnitus) about sifting through the photo archives (awesome stuff!). Like he and many, I’ve been going through my extensive library in an effort to become more organized. A ton of forgotten gems have surfaced, including a few here. So, I thought I’d share….
As some of you might recall, I had the good fortune to photograph Wilco many times. In absence of any live shows these days, here’s a few pics from a bunch of various shows. I think these sort of show why Wilco is about the best live show on the planet.

wonderful photos, Charles. that sound you just heard was me tossing my gear into the trash bin. thanks for sharing.

If you have yet to catch the Freddie Mercury show from 1992, you have until tonight (May 17). They will stop streaming it. The Bowie/Annie Lennox version of “Under Pressure” is terrific.
thanks for the heads up!

While I'm sad I missed tonight's show live, I must say... Instagram TV is SO much better. First, no comments taking up the screen. You can actually pause and skip to specific times. AND you can watch it on a browser. It also looked much cleaner.
i just downloaded to my phone and it's working there, but how do you cast it to the TV? I don't see the usual two icons for google cast or airplay.

And at the end of that, he says something like, "who's got the spreadsheet now?" HAhahaha! Priceless.
that's really funny, i missed it.

the last jam was James Gang - Funk 49. great song. Cleveland represent!

while at the (now outside and appropriately socially distanced) Bow Market, I heard "Love Is Everywhere (Beware)" yesterday

in that transitory time, when Bill added parentheses to the Smog name and before he ditched it all together and just went by his own name.
it's rather fascinating that both he and Will Oldham have spent virtually their entire career on Drag City; Bill did a couple of tapes and a self-released record before joining DC.
if any of you have the free streaming service Kanopy (available with a library card), Apocalypse (tour doc of Callahan) is available now. i watched half of it last night and will finish it today. enjoyable. -
embrace your inner hesher \m/

btw These Days is a Jackson Browne song. great versions also exist from Barbara Manning (where I first heard the song) and St Vincent.
