  1. That Ladies and Gentlemen release is still one of my favorite official releases. It's hard to believe it has been almost 16 years since it was released. That Dick's Picks is the first one I ever got.
  2. Interesting interview with Peter here: Peter Buck on Life After R.E.M. 'I Hate the Business'
  3. Looks like Jay is coming out of hibernation:
  4. I have not heard any of those re-re-releases. There is an Idlewild South box also. I think you mentioned that one the other day.
  5. You can mostly tell in some of those photos - he is super skinny and strung out. I think it never came out much due to the way he died. And I think also due to Gregg's long TMZ life that overshadowed Daune's short life.
  6. I think I probably knew about this - but still it's a trip to read about it: GD/Cream March 11th 1968, Sacramento, California
  7. There is a bunch of talk about that time period in that One Way Out book Although I find the sound of him playing slide one of the greatest sounds ever - I don't think I would have wanted to be around him. I guess he was what we would call an "alpha male" today.
  8. I wonder why it didn't come up when I searched.
  9. Amazon must be rock blocking me - I don't see anything but the vinyl bootleg.
  10. There are some great songs on that album. It just sounds funky.
  11. I think he talks about it some GD book I read - maybe in the interview with him in the Taper's book.
  12. Isn't that due to Owsley being in prison - and no one running a tapedeck while he was gone?
  13. I was trying to find the book this guy wrote - which I had - but seems to have disappeared. Anyhow, this seems to be a good site for Ryan news: Losering - David Menconi
  14. Fillmore West 06/06/1970 I was reading through that Archives page about the various jams and landed on the show above.
  15. I suppose I may have read this in some Beatles book somewhere and forgotten - but I wonder if George ever got compensated beyond whatever wage he was earning as a staff producer? I am talking about the Beatles years, not his post Beatles work. Oddly enough - this popped up on a blog I read: A Kind Of Sacred Place: The Rock and Roll Ruins of AIR Studios, Monserrat
  16. The only two of those sorts of releases I have are the Stonybrook and Macon City shows. I was listening to the Ludlow Garage show the other day.
  17. I think I have listened to the show by way of Youtube a time or two. I can't find any sort of link to buy the new legit release. You would think old Butch would have got that straight.
  18. I think some of this show is on the Dreams boxset "You Don't Love Me"/"Soul Serenade" (Live): Longer interview with Butch about the release: Butch Trucks Talks Epic 1971 Radio Concert
  19. What's wrong with America? They have some great songs. I don't see George Martin working with anyone he didn't want to work with - at least by that point.
  20. That is a shame. I wonder why they don't partner with Rhino or somebody. I can only guess they want total control.
  21. For 9 million, you can fund a documentary about Zappa and end up owning his house. Who the Fuck is Frank Zappa?
  22. LOL Maybe they will call him up.
  23. That is what I was thinking - unless they go the Journey/Yes/etc. route and get some sound alike/tribute band guy.
