OH NO YOU DID NOT!!!!!!
I think the Wall is a masterpiece. Anyone can think of a stage show now. But no one did until Pink Floyd did it on that scale.
-
I was also at the Roger Waters show in Berlin around 1990 when he played 'the wall' in front of about 250,000 people. A bizzare night. The Scorpions came on stage on motocycles to open the show with 'In the flesh'.
The Wall live in Berlin is a steaming pile of crap.

Roger Waters The Wall- You hear some classical music building anticipation and the lines "I'm SPARTACUS!" repeated all over the arena from the classic move. Then you hear the trumpet playing "Outside the Wall" and BAM! the first two low E notes from In the Flesh hit you really hard and fast. Fire works, lights, and a giant plane that crashes into the side of the Wall. So. So. So good.

ughhh the way the interviewer talks makes me cringe.

Billy tweeted something about this recently. I think it'll happen.

If theres a pre-show party, I'd love to attend!

^ me too!
but i want a Jazzmaster so so so so badly.... I think I'll take the plunge when my birthday comes up in a few weeks.
-
Thanks! The cabinet is more of a cemetary than a treasure chest. Notice the 2 volume pedals.
aw
Hey how do you like the new(er) Jazzmasters?
My friend who is a guitar snob really dislikes them... infact he thinks most high priced Fenders are all cheese. But I really want a jazzmaster.
Input?

awesome collection!
that cabinet looks like a treasure trove!

I'm right behind ya. Haven't been to the Wang (pics look sweet thou) but in a theater like that our seats should be perfect.
Awesome!
yeah I just didnt know if it was too far off to the side and our views would be obstructed by speakers or anything
-
LAME
-
Orchestra row D seat 113 for the Wang.
is that good?
Usually the best sound is upwards anyway.
god damn you pre-salers are fast.

1. I'm a huge rockumentary guy. So my friend brought "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" over one day and I thought it was great. I ripped off all his Wilco CDs and have bought every CD since just to support the band.
2. I've only seen Wilco twice and Jeff once. My first show was at the Maine State Pier back in '09. Connor Oberst opened. Fuck that guy.

Crap! i always forget to post when I'm going to shows.
The other night I went to CLASH OF THE TITANS here in Portland.
how it works is they take two artists who are either alike or sort of "rivals" in a way and they get people from the local scene to create a cover band of sorts.
Some people go all out with costumes and trying to be exactly like the band... and some dont which is really lame.
Each band plays 6 songs and the one with the best audience response plays an encore tune.
Its at our big rock club here in town so theres lots of people, lights, and it sounds great
Anyways. the other night was KISS vs Aerosmith and it was awesome!
Other match ups are or have been...
Ben Folds vs Elton John
Melvins vs Kyuss
Ray Charles vs Stevie Wonder
Paul Simon vs James Taylor
Bowie vs Queen
Black Keys vs White Stripes (on my 21st birthday!)
and this seasons finale is Zeppelin vs The Who. F YEAH

Dinosaur Jr. is playing Bug in it's entirety. Also, they brought along Henry Rollins to interview them before they play. Which must be sort of weird. You get all geared up for the show when the band appears on stage, and instead, the show starts off with a bunch of gray haired dudes talking.
I was at the first show of this tour.
The opening act was awful. it wasnt the ones that are listed in this review...
I dont even remember their name and i want to forget the 45 minutes I had to listen to their shitty music.
Also. I was really really digging the Henry Rollins interview. He interviewed them for about 15ish minutes it was really awkward and entertaining. and then they all walked off stage, the roadies set up J's pedals and they came on.
they blew through Bug really really fast. Except for "Dont" they riffed HARD on that for a long time. Lou blew out his vocal chords at this show and threw the mic in the audience and my friend, myself, and a bunch of other people were fighting over who would scream "WHY DONT YOU LIKE ME?!" to be heard by everyone else. I guess they've been grabbing people from the audience to sing on that now.
After that they played a 2 song encore (Out There and Feel the Pain) and that was it.
What the hell? I know none of them like Bug... but they only played for just shy of an hour!
Not worth the $25. but i still really enjoyed myself.

Build a Rocket Boys! - Elbow
Bon Iver, Bon Iver - Bon Iver
Helplessness Blues - Fleet Foxes
So Beautiful or So What - Paul Simon
Smart Flesh - The Low Anthem
I'm sure the new Wilco disc will top this list.

I really reallyyyyy like "Get Well Soon, Everybody"
But now that I saw that video with Jeff explaining what "the whole love is"
I like it a lot more. hahah
-
^ A little bit... but I also dont really like to judge live performances based on a television appearance. The direct in doesnt do anything justice.

me too!!!!!

So I'm looking into some MIDI Controllers and stuff.
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UMX610.aspx
This talks about 100 or something presets included... does that mean this can be played without the
use of a computer or other MIDI Interface?
if so then thats not a bad deal, despite it being Behringer (though i've always had good luck with this company)
help a brotha out?
