I was able to get a pretty funny video of the first few minutes of "The Late Greats", before a very kind security guard told me that if I didn't turn my camera off, he'd kick me so hard I wouldn't be able to have children. On YouTube now, pretty funny stuff.
woah. What an ass hole!!!

By my count, eleven of the 21 songs played tonight were not played either of the first two nights of the tour. Plus, four songs that were played at the both the first two shows, were not played tonight. How is that predictable?
Me thinks that is just a joke.

I would want to sit down with an acoustic guitar with him and pick some tunes. chat a little. and maybe have a little song writing lesson.
Thats more than asking a question. Maybe I'd ask him if he wanted to play guitar in my living room with me.

Yeah, I've never understood why albums have to be mastered to be so freaking loud. If it's not loud enough, just turn it up on your stereo! A little EQ, maybe a little compression and you're good to go.
a lot of times thats the band. I think The Whole Love is a good record to be mastered as loud as it is... Wilco The Album... not so much.
But there is a story that goes around about Ludwig mastering GnR's Chinese Democracy. He did three masters, one for Axl, one that got put out and a third one that was his "own master" or something.

I've met Bob briefly a couple of times. Saw him at Panera one day. He's a really nice dude! Everyone at Gateway is, actually.

no way man. I'll tweet before and after the show. but at just about every concert, my phone stays in my pocket.

i think Art of Almost will be the opener on this tour. How can it not be?!
But what I love about having such a diverse catalog is that they have tons of different stuff to choose from.
And from how they were doing on the "Evening With..." tour, I think they'll have a lot of tricks up their sleeves.
I'm really jealous about you seeing 4 wilco shows btw.

There is one for just about any artist you can think of... its.... defiantly lullaby music. thats for sure.

Met Jeff outside the State Theater in Portland a few months back. He was really really nice. Signed my acoustic guitar and i gave him a copy of my bands album to give to Spencer (he took the cover photo). His production manager (i assume) asked if i had tickets to the show. I was so tempted to say "no they sold out :(" to get some special treatment. But alas, i was honest.
I met Craig Finn from the Hold Steady, he was a great guy. Signed my copy of Boys and Girls in America.
and I also hung out with State Radio once (lead singer is from Dispatch)

just bring Wilco to the post party. I will buy em all a beer except Jeff. I'll buy him a diet coke.

Art of Almost. Holy crap this is going to be a GREAT Headphone album if the rest of the songs are like this.
-
yes. I got all excited because I'd have time to listen to the whole album before I go out to lunch with my friend.
now I cant.

each record has its own flavor. Thats what makes me love their catalog so much. Everything is really different and similar at the same time.
And Jeff talks about it in the deluxe DVD on what kind of record he wants to make

the typos in this article are driving me bonkers right now.

Cambridge outside of Boston is a good place to catch music. Look up TT the Bears, Middle East and other clubs around the area.
Also if you make the trek up to Portland Maine, I could possibly help you guys out. We've got a great music scene up here

I feel like bonus tracks are defiantly an extension of the record. When the last track plays, it usually feels like some sort of closure.
I like what the EELS did for one of their records. They added about 15 seconds of dead space before the bonus track started playing.
you can ALWAYS make a playlist of just the album.

The album was mastered by Bob Ludwig in Portland, ME, if I'm not mistaken.
yep! most of Wilcos records have been mastered here. I live in Portland and walked all over the place looking for them. No luck.
But yeah Ludwig and the people at Gateway Mastering do really awesome work for local musicians and also big names.

hahahah i want to see that clip so bad!
