  1. I dont know where people get off calling EVERYONE who is participating in this protest a "deadbeat" or whatever else.

I know a few people who are in the Occupy Portland (ME) protest... They are defiantly not deadbeats. They just support this cause and want to make a statement.

I see this as a protest to show we're all fed up with corporate greed, tax cuts and loopholes, and the like. And how that just doesnt happen for the shrinking middle class and people below that line. A lot of people don't get that... they're just doing it just to do it.

I doubt this will work though. Notice how Washington hasnt commented on it?

The #1 thing on the Republicans list is to destroy the Obama presidency which is completely wrong... If he has "destroyed the country" as much as they say he has... Then your #1 thing should be to talk about you undoing these problems... Much like how Obama was talking about in '08 when he was elected. Yes he has been a pretty big disappointment but I do not blame him completely. I think he needs to grow a set of balls and learn how to not roll over and take it like a little bitch from the Right. Until someone with real common sense gets to the front... Barack Obama still has my vote.

  2. i just found out that the first three seasons are on netflix... I finally broke down and watched the first episode last night. It was pretty good... I mean I have a feeling I'll be liking this show... but not jizzing over it like everyone else does.

  3. i was being totally sarcastic!

But i strongly encourage people (who can make it) to watch the opening act to just about any show. They are up there for a reason, they're expressing themselves and deserve the full attention... unless they're unbearably bad and are dicks or whatever. But who knows, you could get turned on to some awesome music.

Like when I saw Snowblink open for Jeff Tweedy and everyone talked through the whole thing. I felt bad for them. People were pretty quiet in my section in Boston but i could hear a lot of people talking in the back. I just found it very rude.

But anywho, spending time with your kid is much more important but if you do have the time. Nick Lowe is great and i really really enjoyed his set.

  4. Sitting vs standing at a concert is the only time I "conform" to do as others do. If everyone starts to stand up, then I stand up (so i can see as well)

If everyone sits, I will sit. I know that everyone including myself are there to enjoy the concert. I try to be as conscious as i can about how other people want to enjoy it. Because we're all supposed to be there together experiencing something, right? RIGHT? Exactly.

But as far as preference at a Wilco concert goes, I would prefer to stand if I'm on the floor.

  5. I might have been misunderstood. maybe not.

But every presale I've done, I've gotten tickets just about right away. For the Boston show, I stopped for a second to look at the seating chart and still got an isle seat in the orchestra.

Granted I was surrounded by people who didn't seem all that into it. Barely sang along. So what gives?

I also think there should be a limit on presale tickets as well... I know there are several people on here that grab up several pairs of tickets just to get a "better seat" or something. Thats not meant to be malicious... but give everyone a chance eh?

  6. I think people complaining about not getting tickets is sort of a cop out. If you REALLY WANT TICKETS. You will stay by your computer for the pre-sales and when they go on sale for the general public. I've never ever ever been shut out of a show. And i've seen some great ones.

I think its great they can sell out the 2000-3000 seaters. And they shouldnt go bigger than that. Unless its a special occasion. Like opening for Neil Young. or something.

  7. I dont think they're a jam band in the sense of the music. I'm not bored by Wilcos music but I can't really take much by Phish or the Dead before I'm bored stiff.

I do think they sort of create the sense of community that is found in the jam band scene. Taping, trading, online communities, people taking in multiple shows on a single tour. etc. And thats really cool. Community, its what I'm all about, yo.

  8. I see me in that picture! The tallest one standing behind the kid in the plaid shirt.

That was a family sitting in front of me... The dad was being a typical dad, hooting, hollering, clapping, trying to be fun. The daughter was dragged along, i could tell. Texting CONSTANTLY and telling her dad to stop dancing. wtf girl? Let your dad do what he wants. Shut up and watch the show and get off the F-book! They changed the layout anyway and it blows!

  9. I thought it was a great show! nothing will hold a candle to the "Evening With..." Show i saw... but I am always up for seeing these guys. The set was a little short... but everyone was happy and on top of their game. I love Jeffs stage moves and he seemed like he was in a really really good mood.

My only major gripe was he didnt really talk too much... probably because of the 11 curfew, they wanted to cram as much as they could.

my minor gripe is they didnt play Standing O. I know a lot of people dont like that tune... but I love it and wanna hear it live!
