  1. My favorite? Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for sure.

No album has struck me the way it has, and I doubt that I can be hit in the same way by a piece of music. It's complex, challenging, beautiful, and so carefully constructed that it just continues to unfold with every listen.

  2. well i do plan on gigging, thats why i want the lighter one!

its so hard to lift a CC2

over here the CC1 is 529 and the CC2 is 549

then you can get the CC2 with the expensive speakers thats alot more

Hmm, I mean, for that price difference I would be inclined to go for the CC2, but I don't know how well those Vox stock speakers hold up. I'd look around at that stuff first. You could always spring for some wheels on the bottom of the CC2 to make it a little more bearable, but I'm pretty sure that it would give you more clarity/sound projection in a band setting. However, I use a single speaker fender and haven't had much trouble with it in live settings, so the CC1 might still be your best bet...both in terms of weight and speaker quality/life (Celestions are pretty solid speakers).

  3. I don't know what prices are like over there, but here the CC1 and CC2's have a bigger price difference, like about $300-900 depending on which speakers you have in the CC2. I'd assume there's something behind that. The only noticeable difference in terms of features is that the 1 speaker comes with a Celestion Neodynium Neo Dog Speaker, I don't know how that is, but the 2 speaker comes with either Vox GSH 12-30 Speakers or Celestion AlNiCo "Blue" Speakers.

That being said, I'm not an expert about amps at all, but I would say unless you are planning on doing some more serious gigging I would stick with the 1 speaker, the weight difference definitely could be helpful, and if you do gig more seriously you could always make sure it's miced.

  4. I've got way too many guitars.

    Fender Jaguar

Fender Tele (red, mid-80s I think, beaten senseless)

You know there are ways to get rid of too many guitars :pirate

...course my thinking is you can never have too many guitars :thumbup

    Nice collection!

  5. From the P-Forkster:

Back. Street's. Back. Alright! Oh, wait-- wrong "Everybody". Whoops! Guess I just had boy bands on the brain. But Chicago indie institution the Sea and Cake? They're a man band.

They've got experience, having played together for nearly 15 years, and they've got fidelity, having stuck with hometown label Thrill Jockey since the beginning. Come May 8, Thrill Jockey will serve up yet another Sea and Cake testament to raging manliness, the quartet's seventh album to date: Everybody.

Everybody follows up 2003's One Bedroom and features the tried-and-true lineup of vocalist/guitarist Sam Prekop (Dracula), guitarist Archer Prewitt (mummy), bassist Erik Claridge (Frankenstein monster), and drummer John McEntire (werewolf). What they may lack in synchronized dance moves, they more than make up for with sparkling, graceful arrangements and thoughtful songwriting.

Despite Prekop's best intentions, Everybody contains-- like every Sea and Cake album before it-- exactly 10 songs. Unlike the band's previous LPs, this one was recorded with some help from sound engineer Brian Paulson (Wilco, Slint) at Michigan's Key Club. It was "like a little rock'n'roll boot camp," Prekop told Pitchfork earlier this month.

As previously reported, Cakers Prekop and McEntire are slowly piecing together a electronic record, while Prekop also has a book of photography on the way. Expect the Sea and Cake to hit the road this spring to rock your body right.

    Everybody:

    01 Up on Crutches

    02 Too Strong

    03 Crossing Line

    04 Middlenight

    05 Coconut

    06 Exact to Me

    07 Lightning

    08 Introducing

    09 Left On

    10 Transparent

Count me as excited for this one. I missed the announcement that these guys were recording again before, so this was a pleasant surprise to find. This year is definitely just full of releases that I have high hopes for.

  6. I don't have one...yet. But I'm planning on getting one sooner or later. I've played a couple, and it's definitely tons of fun...and dangerous. The best was watching a friend of mine sweat profusely while getting totally into boxing, he had people wiping his brow by the end :lol
