I heard from someone that Jeff's came from Willie's Guitars in St. Paul.
Here's a 1924 0-18 for $5500. They also have an 1890's Martin among there other guitars.

I think I'll maybe pick up "Down With Wilco" on vinyl when I get paid, maybe a couple cd's. It's a nice deal either way!

Definitely has to be gross, not the amount the artist(s) were actually pocketing. But still, even a small proportion of some those sums is more than I will make in a lifetime.
Celine Dion I imagine made the list for her Vegas deal.

I used to call in all the time to KRLX (Carleton College radio) to chat with dj's about kickin' tunes. Heard a lot of great stuff there.

Sky Blue Sky has its moments ("Impossible Germany" and "On and On and On" stand out the most to me) but while I like it a lot, it doesn't have the same depth and complexity that Summerteeth or Yankee Hotel Foxtrot hold for me.

Dash 7 is an excellent song.
I always listened to AM occasionally and liked it, but after hearing a bunch of these tunes in concerts the album is even better for me. Go figure. Definitely a great listen. My favorite Wilco album? No, but I do like it a lot.

I have seen Henry play several times of late at the Velvet Lounge. I knew he was out of jazz for awhile, but had no idea he had totally disappeared.

Yeah the being unemployed (and prior to that student teaching) thing has definitely left me cutting back plenty. I honestly haven't seen any concerts, period, since November and that was the one concert (Calexico) that I spent any money on this fall. Definitely cut back on the buying booze and going out to eat, not that I mind since I love cooking, but it happens. No cable here anyway, so nothing to cut there. Mostly I've just tried to stop buying anything that's not essential. Tough stuff, but not the end of my world.

I really like the studio version of Panthers, particularly the percussion on the track. I know some don't like that version much at all, but I think it's a great song in general.

Dirty Slide reminds me a little of Zappa's Willie the Pimp!
I like Off of Boundaries and So Long quite a bit, nice stuff.
Not much on there yet but it's coming:I enjoy that one, it's got a nice balance of musical elements. The Jayhawks vocal harmonies in the chorus/bridge are good touches.
I'll get to a couple more later, but there's some pretty sweet music in the four pages of this thread.

I really don't like Skynyrd, but I really do like Southern Rock Opera (and Drive by Truckers). Go figure!

Pick up: Glassworks it is a great, minimal, mesmerizing set of pieces that showcases Glass' trademark arpeggiating style. I'd start with that.
While you're at it pick up: Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians and John Adams' Road Movies. If you like those get Terry Riley's In C as well.
That's a great introduction that will pretty much cover all the bases of minimalism in its glory. Enjoy!

Rather Ripped was kind of hit or miss for me, but still pretty good. However, Sonic Nurse and Murray Street are excellent records. I really look forward to this one.
