  1. Still haven't listened to the new Jason Isbell. Been listening to Star Wars almost on repeat since it was released. After that, will do the same with Isbell probably.

  2. FWIW I posted a very very very brief rundown of how to play Random Name Generator in the Lyrics/Tabs section. Buddy and I figured it out, probably going to play a jam based off of it tmrw night at this show we are playing. Or the song itself if we can figure out the lyrics.

  3. Whole thing is A to G. The A riff starts on the A string, 7th fret to 10th fret and then 7th fret on the d string. Last two notes are on the 5th fret for that. Then it just moves down two strings, but then instead of the 8th fret (ala 10th) you hit the 7th. I would tab it out but I am lazy. Maybe later.

  4. I imagine we'll see some cool "band members as Star Wars characters" illustrations in various magazine and newspaper reviews.

As a childhood Star Wars nerd, this would drive me crazy (in a good way)

  5. Wasn't a huge fan of the record my first listen through, liked the second half. BUT 2nd listen through was very important for me and now I really like this record. One of their most ambitious in a while too.

  6. I'm pretty sure that's just a fun photoshopped pic for that concert. I did think maybe they would be doing like, covers of the Byrds, but that seems like an odd thing for the band to do, cover another band's songs for the whole show.

I mean, they did do that cover show in 2013 at SS, but that was a different thing altogether.

Probably, just a tribute to the Byrds, one of JT's favorite bands.

  7. I recently decided to buy this boxset. I got it for 31 bucks by way of Amazon.  I have not yet listened to it yet - but I read through all the essays and liner notes earlier today. There is some good stuff there to read. I have to say it was nice of John to speak kindly of the online community. I also picked up the Mermaid Avenue boxset. I suppose now all I need is the Wilco book I never got around to reading (Sunken Treasure).

CD, right? Must be from the price. How many essays/liner notes are there? I may buy it just for those.

  8. Jeff was playing his Martin on stage on Friday night. First time I think I've ever seen him play it on a show. I would really like one of those guitars, especially since I aped Jeff;s fingerstyle of playing. Probably my next guitar will be his, whenever that happens.

  9.

People have mentioned the crowd size, but to me it almost seemed less crowded overall than last time, perhaps due to some people spending more time inside to avoid the rain?

For me, it's going to be hard to top this year's Solid Sound, but I'm willing to try.

I thought the same thing. I mean there were clearly large amounts of people there, and the crowds for the Wilco show were pretty huge (I went on Friday night to use the restroom and get some water, but that took basically half of Thanks I Get and most of Theologians) - but aside from that it didn't really seem live an overwhelming amount of people. Granted I hadn't been at SS since 2010 so my comparison skills are low, but I was a bit worried it would be crazy packed all the time.
