  1. 03 December 1979... 26 minute Scarfire...25 minute Terraplayin' .... really great first set too (lazy supp)... https://archive.org/details/gd79-12-03.sbd.miller.29434.sbeok.flacf
  2. Last time I saw JRAD I was "whelmed" - not under or over. Was a ton of fun though. I think they did a 25 minute Tennessee Jed.
  3. I've always liked that PITB and ending to Stella Blue. Nice to see the video...thanks!
  4. So slow and sluggish, every song the same mid-tempo....yup...but I saw the wrigley shows a few years ago (and Petty on the Friday night) and I did have a great time with friends. Attending Dead Co is kind of like attending a live version of a VH-1 show about the grateful dead. That show never got the rights to use the actual music so it utilized similar sounding music. Dead Co is kind of the same for me. $400 bucks for GA is steep. I'm happy to hang with friends for a weekend in chicago but $800 for two nights is really steep for VH-1 soundtrack.
  5. Generally agree about 1989-07-15. It had some boring portions but also some great moments. With the above "edited" version of the Foolish I took out nearly all of the singing, with the Victim I took out all of the singing, with the Crazy Fingers I was able to remove the trainwreck singing flubs but keep the fantastic jerry guitar, with the Truckin' i removed the entire song poriton and iwth the smokestack i reduced it to one verse. All in all I wouldn't listen to the entirety of all the songs, but the "edited" version actually plays very very well in my opinion... 1989-07-15__Foolish~Victi

  7. my oldest child starts college at CU Boulder this fall...She definitely could have chosen a worse location...
  8. St. Paul 1981 is very underrated...Great show - as is the following alpine show...
  9. Here is an "edited" version of 17 May 1974 Truckin'~NFBM~Eyes~China Doll Sugar Mag I assembled... https://youtu.be/64_gAE2vCe0 Enjoy...
  10. Karben4 - Fantasy Factor is pretty darn tasty... https://www.karben4.com/beer/fantasy-factory/
  11. I've always liked the NFA from cornell better than the scarfire.
  12. Englishtown 9-3-77 He's Gone through Truckin' Sugaree 5-19-77 Sugaree 5-28-77 Agreed about pre/post mickey accident. Starting in novemberish the band (in my opinion) started slipping into that 1978 sloppy stage. Personally, despite some great shows, i've always thought 1978 was their worst year of the 1970s followed closely by January to august 1971. Pre=accident 77 I thought hte sound was almost too perfect. Who knows. My favorite era from the 1970s is currently February / March 1973.
  13. The St. Stephen jam from 15 October 1977 still blows my mind.... any other similarly exceptional jams on par with that from 1977?
  14. I love the Midnight Moonlight from 12-22-1976....great Donna and really great Jerry led jam...
  15. I always liked the 26 Feb 1977 show. The Terrapin is played a bit differently (choppily? more rhythmically?) and has the extended conclusion. For some reason I like the "chopping" hammer sound inbetween the songs. I like the Weir slide stuff inbetween the songs. the Minglewood is exceptional. The Playin' jam into Wheel, the Wheel outro jam, and the Playin space back into the reprise is arguably the highlight of the show. The Help Slip Frank Eyes was ok in my opinion. Not ephemeral but pretty good. The Lesh solo into Dancin was fantastic. The Dancin' jam is well done. The R&R
  16. Wow...nice... I never got that close. Milwaukee Mecca 4/15/1989 i was about 10th row...
  17. Today and probably for next few days ____ 12 October 1984....Augusta
  18. 10.19.74 was really strong. Probably the best Mexicali I've heard... The Sugar Mag was really strong. of that run...10.16 and 10.19 were the highlights in my opinion...
  19. Totally agree. One of last great shows / jams with Keith. His demise was a real drag. In my opinion, he wasn't the same after 1974. 1975 / 1976 he was ok but very sedate. 1977 he seemed much more percussive rhythmic than the improv rhythmic of 72/73/74. 1978 he was sloppy (drunk?) percussive rhythmic. 1978 he almost sounded like a drum.
  20. I love the feedback blasts as the post-eyes evaporates into drums...almost spooky...
  21. meanwhile...back in 1979...specifically on 31 October...the band played a monster Eyes of the World...
