  1. The only show I could maybe get to would be from Norfolk, Va to Knoxville, TN which driving is 527 miles and would take 8 hours 21 mins to get there. :hmm Airfare is waaayyy too expensive for me to afford. My mom is a travel agent and I had her looking the prices up for me this morning. Nothing was below $300 for any of the shows + the ticket itself+ hotel costs. That I just simply cannot afford....Damn! Oh well, someday I will see get to see Mr. Waits, someday. :ohwell

Any news on who he'll have in his band? I'm assuming these aren't going to be solo shows.

According to this, it looks like Marc Ribot will not be part of the Waits tour.

Maybe he'll use Duke Robillard again.

Not sure yet. However, I'm sure we'll hear the news soon. I have heard that David Alvin was rumored to be playing...

  2. me too, but i doubt it

Hey, you never know, he might show up there! I know for a fact he is not coming to Virginia. So, my chances of seeing him rely on his coming to D.C. which is 3 hrs away. Other than that I may be able to see him if he decides to come to Philadelphia or New York. I grew up close to both cities and I still have all my family living close by between them both! I got to see Wilco once back in 2004. I saw Bob Dylan last year... Tom Waits is the only one of must sees to see live! I must see this man before he or I leaves this earth! :D

  3. The press conference begins Monday at 9 am EST not 6 am as stated in my first post! :thumbup

BTW... Who else loves that the tour is called "Glitter and Doom?" I hope this also means a new album coming soon too! Stuart did say this will be one of several announcements coming in the next week!!!

  4. ok this isn't wilco, but since i started the thread, :). had lunch in a posh restaurant today and they were playing Tom Waits.

back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Really? What song was it? I once heard "Black Wings" in a cafe here in Va and I nearly fell off my seat! :D

  5. she should get to work on her memoirs...now that'd be an excellent read!

Yeah, that sure would be a great read. Though, I think it will be a long time before we see that happening. In the mean time I just wish she would do good films like she used to! She does have a couple films coming out soon. One comes out this year (The Informers) and one next year (The Private Lives of Pippa Lee) that seem very promising for her!
