Another One Bites the Zodiacal Dust Cloud
WilcoFan replied to cryptique's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Quote from the school's examining board chairman after Brian May's presentation: -
My 3 sons and I liked Ratatouille. "The" good kids movie of the summer.
-
I definitely see them every time they come through. Last year I don't think I spun a Wilco CD even once. This year I have listened to the all.

Yes. If there were truly a God who had divine power over the universe, he would essentially have full reign over even the devil. Perhaps that's why he instructed him explicitly to "get back in the game."

Of all time? Wow, I'm not sure. I don't like to pick favorites. But right now and the last 8 years, yes, but fading. However there aren't any other bands that better. I have been into different music over the last couple of years. But my two most favorite artists right now: M. Ward and Andrew Bird.

Definitely. I make some awesome chili.
-
I thought so too. I missed one episode and everything changed so dramatically I was p.o.'d. All of a sudden the SD6 was defunct and they were already on a new story line. I was baffled.

The best breakfast burritos I ever had came from Texas and they were only $1 a piece. However, the worst chili I ever had came from Texas too. Go figure.
-
Eggs is great too. If I would have had that in 2005 when it came out it might have beat Sufjan's Come On Feel.. for my favorite of that year.

According to the local DJ here he said that Billboard has an article that borders on self-admitted gossip from the news source that the Zeppelin tour is in the signing phase. No comment from band manager. I would love to see JPJ play with Page and Plant.

I love this album so much. Best of the year for me. I need to get some of his older stuff.

In Baltimore they used to have "Little Tavern." With a bag of burgers very similar to White Castle. Mmm they were good.

The last episode was ok. As much as i love this series it does fit the HBO paradigm: drag things out as long as you can even if it ultimately hurts the story in the long run. Great series like this and deadwood should have a limited life and should have a conclusion. The sopranos would have been much cooler if it ended about 2 seasons earlier. Also look at the effects of Lost. I don't even watch it anymore because it is dragging on and on.

The first wilco song I ever heard. I was hooked.
-
I was going to post some line from The Big Lebowski too.

How about a straight jacket?
-
That's right. I couldn't remember and I when I asked my co-worker what numbers do I put in to find out he had no idea what I was talking about and started ranting and raving about how he can't drink a glass of water in the same room as midgets and antique furniture.

People always think that John is God's new Jesus. Basically god has sent us a mix between James Dean and Sling Blade. Nice.
-
Me too. But like I said before, the rhythm guitar on this song is kind of herky-jerky and I bet it wouldn't come off well live.

New Wes Anderson Film: The Darjeeling Limited
WilcoFan replied to Welsh Rich's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I have a theory that Luke is in fact the busiest actor in movies right now. That guy is in a LOT of movies. He always plays the unfunny straight-laced guy with a conscience. -
Tweedy also had Jay Bennett for a while who is pretty well versed in music theory. I think having him around obviously helped.

What Will We Learn During/From Tonight's Debate?
WilcoFan replied to Atticus's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Ha Ha. "Some things I know and some things I don't." -
I've worked in the studio a few times and have had classically trained musicians come it do lay down some kind of violin, dulcimer, etc. parts. Most of the time they ONLY will work from sheet music that you have arranged and written and they generally are not very creative. So I think too much school is bad. But wasn't Andrew Bird classically trained? He's very creative and I would say his last 2 albums are at least as good as Wilco's last two albums.

Two episodes ago Cissy mentioned that he was down in Mexico surfing. I think she was talking to him on the phone. He'll be back. Check out the HBO site on this: topic.
