  1. I wonder what people want from this band. Do you want them to be aimless envelope pushers tyring to out do their YHF's to and endless point of nonsense? What is it that you want?

I'd have to say, yes. It's probably my own fault but I have over the years built an image in my mind about what Wilco stands for, not so much what they sound like. To me they they were the quintessential music artists. They were prolific, hard to categorize, and they rocked hard. Now they are a different band for better or for worse. I hope their next album just blows all of my expectations away. If it doesn't it is probably because I've changed too. One thing is for sure that eventually someone will take their place as my favorite group. Actually Andrew Bird and M. Ward probably did 3 years ago.

Basically what I'm saying is that I'm hoping for the best. I don't think people want to bash Wilco here, but they might find it as hard as I have to come to grips with the fact that Wilco is not their favorite band anymore and the bashing is just really fear manifesting itself.

  2. Ultra VNC. Free, works great. Not sure if you would all need to be on the same network.

You could probably do some IP Port Forwarding (static IP) on your machine if you plan on doing this from home and allowing people to view your machine.

Oh, one thing, you would not be able to do voice using this, but you could set up a conference call number.

  3. I'd like to be able to allow a group of people to view my screen live, on-line.

At work, we use Microsoft Live Meeting for training, etc. I'm looking for something similar for personal use. Preferably free, within minimal software/plug-in installation, for use by PCs, Macs, whatever.

I've found a couple of options (yugma and dimdim), and I'm wondering if anyone here has used these, or knows of another program that does this same thing.

    Thanks!

  4. Agreed as well.. Although unfortunately some folks don't really get Nels.. Some folk's prefer the more traditional style of guitar playing like Jay produced, and some people just aren't lead guitar heads in general.. But hey you can't please everybody. I personally agree 100% that Nels should be able to completely go off and not hold anything back.. The album would be so amazing that the universe would explode...

What stopped him from doing that in SBS?

I don't care. I just want something that takes on its own life each and every show. That way I'll start going again..

I know I'm being critical, but I want to go to a show again... (I've passed up 3 in a row now)

I don't want to know where Wilco stands at the end. I want to walk away wondering...

  6. LUCKY! my apt complex sent out a memo letting us know subletting our apts was against our lease terms and we could be evicted if caught. i have a colleague that has her apartment up on craig's list for $10,000 right now (and is taking "applications"). yowza.

Actually this is an investment property and I just had a renter move out. It is sitting empty with a new coat of paint. :(
