  1.

A long ago I used to look at they way they do things with some sort of mysticism. Now I'm just so like, "Get on with it." It shouldn't take a band years and years and millions of dollars spent to do an album.

I guess one amazing thing about them is that you have to hand it to them; they don't give up. Frankly I would be bored to death to be in a band like that, I wouldn't have the patience. And I'm a patient man...

  2. I agree with Nader here. I really like Obama and I hope that he can deliver what he said he would; but I don't see that happening by bringing in Washington insiders. Come on people, Tom Daschle. Are you kidding me?

I agree with the All Clinton all the time quote too. Now I know what Hillary Clinton means when she says she is still "negotiating" an agreement for the SoS position. This is the kind of job you take to serve the country when the president asks you to do it. -- Not negotiate the terms and conditions.

  3. I have gotten used to Dreamweaver. I resisted learning it for a long time but I finally did and I am pretty happy with it. It does add a lot of weird code but I'm a programmer anyway, so no big deal.

One thing: do not use iPower. We used them for a while and then 1 day they went belly up and we could not use them anymore because they could not fix our issues. Also, 1&1 was not all that hot, but that was a long time ago.

Right now for a hosting site we are using hostmonster and I like it.

p.s. iPower has a lot of other badges now, so beware.

  4. good news. seeing both this sunday. obviously need to get this album today.

Definitely. Have fun! I&W's backing band is pretty great too. The percussion section was great and at times they sounded like Led Zeppelin jamming out on No Quarter.

  5. Yes, the rumors are true. Pat was let go after accidentally punching Jeff in the mouth during one of his windmills, and he's been replaced on ukulele and triangle by the former star of UHF. In theory, this is even better than Johnny Marr joining Modest Mouse.

I always kind of hoped Johnny Marr would join Wilco.

  6. 100% absolutely agree. so much of SBS seems like Jeff wrote about 40% of a song and then just let the band take it from there. So many lyrics are throwaway (e.g. ALL of Hate it Here or Walken). In the past when working with Jay, it seemed like even though Jay had a lot of input, Jeff really was involved from beginning to end and was really emotionally invested in each track. I just don't get that with SBS.

Really, my favorite tweedy songs of the past few years are probably Hey Chicken/The Ruling Class. He really has a vision for them and you can tell he works hard at them. I don't get that with SBS at all.

I agree except for Walken. If I could write a good song like that for my wife I could die happy. Great lyrics.

I know that Tweedy is in a different part of his life, it happens, it happened to The Beatles, Jimmy Page and even Einstein. It's kind of like the housing market, you couldn't expect the price of a house to double every 1-2 years forever.

Actually my beef is not with Tweedy but with Wilco as a whole. At this point I have passed the chance to see them up 3 times in a row now and that includes this Saturday. Wilco seems to be way to comfortable and have luckily been touring for the last 4-5 years on just 2 albums. Their sets sound like the records to me and as much as they smile and seem to be into the show, they look like nothing more than polished showmen.

But I still enjoy listening to their old stuff and always hold out hope for the next record.
