Great show, cool venue, but I'm a little miffed to read the encore was cut short by 11 p.m. curfew. Hope the same thing doesn't happen tonight in SF!

I was stuck in the waiting room for about 5 minutes this morning but managed to snag two tickets to both San Jose and San Francisco. Sounds like I was pretty fortunate! Sure, waiting at Will Call sucks, but it's better than paying outrageous service charges.

Love the new album, but Malkmus pretty much slays me every time. Trying to decide whether to drive 4 hours next week and see them in Hollywood ...

I can still listen to Life's Rich Pageant and Document and a few other songs from later in their "middle period." But the old stuff sounds dated, especially Reckoning. And the newer stuff just didn't grab me.

I liked Real Emotional Trash (especially the title track and "Out of Reaches"), but Mirror Traffic has to be Malkmus' best collection since his first solo album. It sounds like Malkmus lightened up a bit on this one and decided to have fun with it. But, yes, I would've liked to have seen a couple longer guitar solos, especially on songs like "Share the Red." Which should've been the closer, IMO.

Amazing performance. Dare I say the new songs sounded just as good as the old stuff? Especially Whole Love. What a great tune.
