  1. same here. i think the remaster sounds great! lots of details in the songs that i didn't hear on the original.

That's encouraging...I've heard elsewhere that it's not noticeable or that it really doesn't matter that it's remastered because it sounds dated anyway. It's only $7.99 @ Best Buy this week, so I may actually cave and buy it.

  2. The two new tracks are really great. I haven't really had time to listen to the grandpaboy's last stand yet...but I did skim through - it' seemed too much like a half-baked sketch to me.

Has anyone got a link to the 2 tracks on the actual 7"? I thought that they would be included with the download but no such luck. Thanks in advance!

  3. Keepers: Smart Girls, Ruling Me, Run Away, Hang On, I want to Be Something

Clunkers: Trainwrecks, Where's my Sex?, All my Friends are Insects

For me their last good record was Green, but I have warmed up to Make Believe a good bit, of course, minus a few songs. :shifty

Death to False Metal is pretty forgettable. It had a lot of potential on paper, but upon listening to it, I was really left underwhelmed. As for Pinkerton's deluxe, I love it. I like having the bonus tracks on there and in one place now. My only complaint is that they're going to release Rivers Coumo's Alone III next month which is supposed to be a Pinkerton edition with some Blackhole songs, demos, etc. Why didn't they just put it on this?

  4. I know. He's so random now about releases. I pine for a normal release of some sort in the near future, - maybe a compilation of his best internet stuff. I did get a physical copy of the last ep but dammit I need the artifact and not some mp3.

  5. yeah, I don't think I've ever seen Mr. Dando live when it wasn't a little to a lot weird. Saw that article also and it is beyond sad. I've always thought he is hugely underrated and too much focus on his off field issues and not the music. I think his first solo album is top notch, but man he appears to be out there and it sounds awful. But the music speaks for itself in my mind. top notch.

I agree. Even when he supposedly kicked the drug habit about the time Baby I'm Bored was released, I could still tell he was "on" something. He was pretty doped up when I saw him on that tour.

He got divorced a while back, he must have taken it pretty hard...

  6. The last two albums have lacked balls. I want some blistering rawk.

Maybe it's time for Wilco's hardcore punk album.

This. The last few albums have lacked some bite to them. I really want to see them rock.

  7. The Flaming Lips – Race for the Prize (remix)

Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #2 (Laïka)

Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal (Daytrotter)

The Decemberists – The Sporting Life

Broken Social Scene – Pacific Theme

The Smashing Pumpkins – There It Goes (Demo)

The Lemonheads – Become The Enemy

The Modern Lovers – Pablo Picasso

Archers of Loaf – Plumb Line

Wolf Parade – Grounds for Divorce

  8. Overall, I have no expectation for the setlists. I do however want to hear certain songs that are my favorite and I would suspeect most people are that way to a certain degree. I think my expectations for a performer is increased when I am certain that they won't ever come back to my town ever again, I certainly want the "perfect" setlist. I know it's unreasonable but it's an honest answer. Bigger acts and most of the bands I like don't play around these parts and when they do I have to jump at the chance to see them because they may not be eback. Wilco played here in '96/'97 and haven't looked back...

for bands I have seen numerous times, I want to see some chances taken by the band.
