  1. Okay, here's the deal. I bought multiple tickets for both shows thinking my wife would go as well as a couple of friends or the kids if they could. Well, my daughter has a gymnastics meet in DeKalb and we just found out yesterday that it's Sunday AM so my wife can't go with me as she has to handle the kid stuff and my friends now have other obligations. Thought I was doing them a favor but I guess not! I am still trying to talk a couple friends into going but thought I'd post here and try to get these a good home. Just realized how close the show is, had back surgery 4 weeks ago and have been preoccupied with rehab.

So... I'm going solo Fri and Sat then meeting up with the family in Dekalb Sunday AM. That leaves me with 2 adult tickets & 1 gold ticket for Friday and 2 adult for Saturday. Anyone interested let me know. I know I will probably have to take a loss, but I hate to see these go to waste. I would like to see some true fans use them. Any questions, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  2. I have 2 extra gen admission for the 30th if you are interested and one gold. My daughter has a gymnastics meet that weekend near Chicago so I bought extras as we didn't have the day or time and now a couple of friends and wife can't go so I have extras. Let me know if you are interested. Also have a couple for the 31st. I will be there both nights anyway.

  3. Hello everyone,

Very excited to see Jeff again, have tickets for both shows. Saw 4 of the 5 Wilco shows in Chicago awhile back, couldn't get the Lincoln Hall tix though. I see them anytime I can when they are in the midwest. I'm coming from the Quad Cities area (Iowa/Illinois straddling the Mississippi).

At any rate, does anyone know if it's all ages or 18+? I've seen it both ways on Jam. I was thinking about taking my son with me, I've been making him listen to Wilco/Jeff since he was born and I think he would enjoy it. I asked him when I first got tickets and he was stoked, then I saw it was 18+ on Jam on the purchase page. I just now looked again at the Vic site, clicked on the show and went to the Jam site where it says all ages. Also, I also assume the golden circle in front is seated? I just had back surgery so it would be nice to sit if I need to.

I would assume it's all ages being a school benefit show? Anyone knows for sure, please let me know. My daughter has a gymnastics meet in DeKalb that weekend but still don't the day! It's really making it hard to get everything sorted out plus some friends have bailed or have other commitments and I'm stuck with a few extras but that's for the ticket forum if I can't find any other friends that want to go.

    Thanks!

  4. We watched the show in the hallway by the bar and there was a drunk girl that kept trying to start a fight with anyone who would try to get by her to get into the ballroom, like this was the first GA show she'd ever been to. It was the most obnoxious thing I've ever seen at a concert and definitely affected my enjoyment for the first 30 minutes while everyone was settling in. Of course, by the end of the show, she was the one barging in front of people and yelling at them, drunken hypocracy at it's finest. It was a fun show with a stellar setlist and I love the metro, but they definetly over sold the place which probably had a lot to do with all of the angry people in there. I'm just glad that most everyone else was cool and composed so that the situations never elevated to full blown fisticuffs. Hopefully LH is just as good musically and much better from a crowd/comfort perspective.

I agree, it did get tight and there were some idiots for sure. I generally wait in line for a couple of hours (I know some of you wait way longer, but that gets me where I want to be) and with a bad back it's literally a pain, especially when you consider a total of 7 hours or so of standing. It really makes me angry when the drunks that roll in after the show starts and push up in front. That's why I hit the balcony at the Riv and Vic and get a good seat. That still didn't stop a couple of idiots from walking to the rail and blocking our view. Luckily a staff member made them move. Some people have no regard for others, especially when we stand in line and freeze our arses off to get the view!

I was able to get a good spot in the balcony on the rail at the Metro and we all looked out for each other trying to hold a space when necessary. At one point a guy just barged in where there was no room and about knocked me over. I just said "take it easy dude", he didn't even acknowledge me. I did however, hold my ground and keep an elbow in his side until he moved over some. I wasn't going to get squeezed by this tool but I'm also not going to start a fight at a Wilco show! He ended up switching places with someone else who was much less intrusive. Anyway, that stufff is distracting and rude. If you want a good view, GET THERE EARLY!

That was way to good of a show to get screwed. In fact, right away I could tell they were playing every song like it was their last and it just got better. The songs, the space and the talent were all absolutely the best I've seen. I have no idea how many times I've seen Wilco, probably 25-40 times including Tweedy solo shows and this was in my opinion the best yet. I don't know that I've seen Jeff smile so much at a show. Everyone in the band seemed as excited as the fans. This one will be hard to top. Wish I was going to Lincoln Hall, but no luck. I have a feeling that will be a somewhat mellower show but I may be wrong. Not to say it won't rock hard but I hope the Metro was the best! (just being selfish I guess!) All things considered, getting a ticket for 4 of the 5 is pretty good. I got in for the Lincoln Hall tickets 4-5 times, but kept getting shut-out. Tried for an hour, after 45 minutes, said tickets available, but got shut-out once again. Have fun if you are going to Lincoln Hall!

  5. I don't have a setlist but that had to be one of the best Wilco shows I've ever seen! Jeff looked like he was having great fun and they rocked every song hard. I've seen them over and over and this was a special show! Wish I had a ticket for Sunday but honestly, I've been here all week and I'm just plain worn out! Can't beat Chicago for a Wilco show. Happy birthday Spencer.

  6. Hey everyone,

Never been to the Metro, I've been to the last 3 shows and have found a good place to sit at all. I have a bad back and prefer to sit if possible, especially after waiting in line. Are there any seats with a good view or any seating at all? How is the balcony, looks like it may be on the end rather than facing the stage? I could only find a few pictures and it's hard to tell. Any info regarding the Metro would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  7. I was able to get in to the buy area many times until about 10:50 or whenever if finally said sold out but when I went to buy 1 ticket, non there. Tried immediately again and still showed the buy button and no luck. I have never refreshed that long! Wish I had gotten in. I was sitting in my car while my son was at his scout meeting. Very disappointed, would have loved to see that show. If anyone ends up with an extra, I'll surly take it off your hands! Have fun if you got tickets!

  8. Hello everyone,

I saw the tickets are now $50 for the solo benefit shows, no other price option. How does that work, just says general admission... are those tickets good for all seats or just balcony? I guess what I'm asking is will it be a free-for-all now or how are they going to handle the different price level seating?

    Thanks,

    Steve

  9. Hi guys,

The tickets that go on sale tomorrow for $100 will be for the floor and the balcony, excluding the golden circle seats. The golden circle seats will also be available for purchase. These are reserved but not assigned.

Also.....there's pretty much not really any bad seats at the Vic.

    Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Yeah, I'm with ya on the seating, good place to see a show! Will be there for sure! Thanks again!

    Steve

  10. Last year, the Golden Circle was seated, but the seats weren't assigned. It was the first 10 rows, you could go right up and claim a seat assuming you got there early enough.

Thanks for the info, that's what I suspected would be the case. If anyone has info on the balcony seats, that would be great! Thanks again!

    Steve

  11. I'd like to know that too, the front balcony seats are some of the best in the house. If I remember, the front balcony seats were reserved last time I went to one of these benefit shows? Also, are the golden circle tickets seated or standing? If seated, are they reserved or gen admission like the rest? Any info would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Steve

  12. I don't believe this is sold out.

You can buy the $150 and $250 seats (closest to stage) right now here:

The $100 seats are not on sale yet. So keep an eye out on this thread for news about the $100 tickets. :cheers

Thanks! I got back into town late last night and checked ticketmaster, showed no tickets for either show, checked several times. I checked some other shows just to be sure it wasn't all of ticketmaster down for maintenance or something. I thought it was odd that they were sold out, I know the benefit shows don't sell out right away. You say the $100 balcony tickets are not available yet? I was thinking they were sold out? I will watch that thread! I'm looking to see Jeff on Saturday and Willie in Peoria the next night. Thanks again! :thumbup

  13. I have 1, probably 2 floor tickets to the UIC Sunday show. I bought a reserved seat at a good price and my wife is unable to go. I don't want to commit to 2 tickets just yet. The one I bought is a will call that has to be transfered into my name and want to see if that pans out. I bought it from a reputable ticket seller and he assures me there won't be a problem. Anyway, I should be in Chicago by 2-3pm. I'm staying at a hotel a few miles away. Let me know if anyone, or anyone you know wants the ticket(s). No charge, unless you'd like to make a donation or buy me a beer. Just hate to see them go to waste.

  14. Hi everyone,

I most likely have an extra GA ticket to the show on Sunday if anyone is interested, my wife can't go. I am coming from the Quad Cities area in the morning but not sure when I'm leaving yet, I will be up there fairly early though. Would anyone consider a trade for my 2 general admission tickets for one descent reserved seat? If not, we can work something out with just the extra ticket.
