  1. The other quote from the article that seems odd is the statement from Jeff where he supposedly said that they play the entire new album at almost every concert. That's definitely not true--it's more like maybe 8 songs--and I can't imagine that Jeff would have actually said that. I suspect it was an unintentional misquote.

Otherwise, it was a really good article from someone who's obviously a fan!

Don't see it as a misquote myself, 8 or 9 songs per night qualifies as most. The quote leads on from a comment about the last album from which they generally only played 5 or 6 songs per night. As a back catalogue grows it must become harder to leave out the favourites, standards or whatever.

  2. Not a big fan of BBN but don't feel the need to flee the place when it starts. As long as it's not played every night.

No...I'll have to check that out.

But I've been listening to music a LONG time. Wilco (Jeff) has a real sense of the ebb and flow of a successful rock show. May be the best ever.

I second that. The selection of songs from the current tour seems just right. OSM has to be the opener though or it'll just become the track you use for a p*ss / drink break.

  3. Probably back in 1999 when they supported REM at one of the London Earl's Court shows. I'd read good things about Summerteeth and Mermaid Avenue and chose that night rather than the first night to go and see REM. Can't say I paid too much attention to them ad we had seats way back on the banks of the arena but can remember hearing California Stars at some stage. ST and MA then stayed on permanent rotation on my work CD player much to the annoyance of colleagues, one of the benefits of being the office manager meant I could play what I wanted! Oh the power. I then bought earlier releases and discovered Uncle Tupelo too. Loved Still Feel Gone more than the other UT albums but have gotten into them way more over the last 12 or so years.

  4. You may find all of this a little obvious but here goes.

Try and liaise with somebody from Belgium. Perhaps there is a Brussels/Belgian exclusive marketplace/ebay type site. I was able to obtain tickets for the sold out Utrecht gig in November via this way. Where are you from? If you're willing to gamble, I'm sure there are tout/scalper tickets available on the night as there are 2 shows. Keep checking the AB site - I was able to get tickets fro the first night long after it had sold out. Perhaps returns become available from time to time?

    Good luck.
