Oh yeah, my kids got me a box set of 100 B movies for my bday. That's 148 hrs of bad flicks. First up, "Curse of Bigfoot".

Watched "Cold Mountain" over the weekend. I still think that Renee Z was the wrong choice to play Ruby.

Yesterday I took the kids to the local prairie to hunt for some monarch caterpillars (not to keep, just to see if we could find some). We mustve checked 150 milkweed plants and didn't find a single one. We have 2 monarch cat's at home which we found in a lil patch of prairie behind a strip mall last Sunday. They eat continuously and are now 8 times the size they were a week ago. I realize now how lucky we were to find them and have also realized that this is quite a responsibility to raise 'em right.

"A Simple Plan" by S. Smith I saw the flick but don't really remember it. It was one of Bridget Fonda's last films though

Watched half of "Wolf of Wall St" last nite. Fun yet nauseating.

Monarch caterpillars are hungry little buggers. They only eat milkweed leaves. Every evening I have to go drive over to the prairie for a few more leaves. Its apparent they are growing larger every day.

About the Arts, well said Lammy Question-why do your kids shit a lot? Too much fiber?

What a shame that schools have moved away from the arts. Hell, I think Illinois is one of the few state school systems that still offer GYM. Crazy. Anyways, my girl started today in one of those STEM schools that seem to be gaining in popularity as of late. It was just built. We took a tour on Monday. Really cool labs and facilities. Its still part of the public school system though.

No Mr. Atticus, my little girls mind will be filled with facts.

Today my daughter starts 5th grade in a brand new school oriented towards science, technology, engineering and math. She is so excited!

During their trek through the Western plains and beyond, Lewis and Clark found buffalo to be delicious, especially the tongue and hump. Many times a buffalo was harvested and only the tongue and hump were consumed. (I recalled this after seeing Poon's buffalo video. Thanks Poon!)
