About 12 years ago, a buddy of mine gave me a four CD genre-spanning compilation of holiday music. It's quite good. I also love Low's Christmas album (which will be even more poignant this year) and Bloodshot Records' 13 Day of Xmas.

As I understand it, the event is every other year, just like Solid Sound. So far it's been 2020 and 2022, so the next one should be January 2024... And if past experience is any indication, it will be announced in May 2023.
Still waiting for my refund offer.

He released a GREAT album several years back with Roger Daltrey. RIP, Wilko.

Well really "Live! The Other Night!" but I saw the Feelies last Friday in Jersey City. They opened as themselves under the name the Willies where they played all instrumentals and mostly covers (a couple of Eno songs, two Bowie songs, Kraftwerk, Hendrix). It was great. And then they played their own amazing Feelies set. It was lots of fun.
That's awesome. The Feelies remain on my concert bucket list - though I don't hold out much hope of them traveling to the Midwest.

The Mekons continue to put out great music 40+ years [!] after their 1979 debut. Twenty years in, they released "Journey To The End of the Night." And two of my favorite releases of 2022, Spoon's "Lucifer On the Couch" and Drive-By Trucker's "Welcome To Club 13" were both released more than 20 years after each band's debut.

He played in Chicago last night. Thought about going, but it would have made my wife very unhappy so I decided against it. He's got so much material. Some of it is undeniably excellent.

Allison is a sweetheart & so talented! She's an L.A. local so I see her frequently playing in L.A. bands. Did you know she & Katie are "mirror twins", where their bodies are mirrors of each other, reversed compared to each other? I understand body organs can even be on the "wrong side" of a mirror twin's body. It's pretty rare. Google it!
How is it that neither Katie nor Allison has written a song named "Mirror Twin?" Seems like low-hanging fruit!

Katie's twin sister, Allison, fronted the band Swearin' -- also worth checking out if you're a fan of Waxahatchee.

If neither your deck nor the Hideout work out, I just redid my patio with a 10'x12' gazebo and am happy to make that available for an intimate Wilco stage. Fire pit reserved for White Sox grumblings and laments!
Count me in!!!

Ha, seems really possible your back deck could fit more people than Hideout.
Haha. The Hideout is small, but my back deck could likely accommodate Glenn's drum kit (but not much else), and that's only if he leaves behind the big gong.

Very intrigued to see what this is! The Riv and the Vic appear to be available that night...
The only silver lining to the White Sox missing the playoffs is that I'm wide open this Sunday!

The Waco Brothers tonight. I was supposed to see Guided By Voices last night, but Bob fractured his knee and all four sold-out Chicago shows were cancelled.
