  1. I have an original pressing of Abbey Road on vynil. It's in shit shape, but it is one of the best birthday presents I've ever recieved.
  2. Because, the Mets pitching overperformed for the entirety of the first 4 months of the season, and I said as much, and I said that this was inevitable. But thats beside the point, I am loving this historical meltdown.
  3. Yes. John also "played" bass on "The Long And Winding Road", but he was so out of it that Phil Spector had to cover how bad the playing is with all of that orchestration. If you listen to the version on Anthology, you can hear he misses notes all over the place. I'm trying to think which songs Paul didn't play bass on. I know for sure: Hey Jude Let It Be Long And Winding Road Back In The U.S.S.R. Birthday Rocky Raccoon For most, you can tell, really. They have far less inventive play and are generally just a "bum bum - pause a beat - bum" style of play.
  4. I think Paul also did the drums on one other song on White Album, but I can't remember which. He also did "The Ballad Of John And Yoko."
  5. I know the story. They decorated his drum kit with flowers when he came back because they missed him, and all that.. How hard could it have been to rerecord the drums? He did a disservice to his own song by refusing to allow Ringo to track it.
  6. Aren't there different types of tasers, as well? I heard the one they used on the kid in UF wasn't the normal type, it was something like a "dry tase" which is supposed to not be as bad. Or something. I don't know.
  7. It was shoddy journalism on Rather's part. Probably shouldn't have been fired for it though.
  8. I mean, I like it, it's a good song, and the "woowoowoo"'s in the bridge are pretty awesome, but damn the drumming is terrible. He tries to do a couple of rolls and it just sounds awful...
  9. Has Paul apologized to Ringo for ruining "Back In The USSR" with his awful drumming and then not crediting himself with said awful drumming on the album's notes?
  10. "I'll Get You" When Paul played that last time I saw him, I think I was the only person who knew the words.
  11. I like that Schilling essentially called him retarded.
  12. It was a borderline clean hit, but it was completely uncalled for in the pre-season. If he didn't launch himself, it wouldn't have been a problem, but since he did he's gonna lose quite a bit of playing time.
  13. And hey I won't post about the Beatles or any other band in this thread!
  14. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=31181
  15. Because I'm sick and tired of that Adam guy sullying my Beatles thread with non-Beatles stuff. The Beatles have worse beards and they are not as good as the Band and the Band are rawer!
  16. Christ, dude. Go start a "The Band" thread.
  17. I like the Sunken Treasure, but IATTBYH is better. I need to buy that one. It's really good.
  18. That is a great tab. Thanks! Ps what dvd?
  19. 2 years of playing 8 hours of a night in Hamburg will do that.
  20. So, people are still trying to argue the Band were as good as The Beatles, because they were more "raw"? Lame.
