I'm hoping for a lot of Summerteeth at Solid Sound. It should also be noted that U2's The Joshua Tree was also released on a March 9th.

I feel like this band would be in my wheel house. I love the Wynn side projects (e.g. Gutterball and The Baseball Project), but have never heard any Dream Syndicate. Where should I start? Days of Wine & Roses?
Yes, that's the best place to start. They only put out 4 records in the 80s & had one a few years ago. Plus, they put out a legendary live album: Live At Raji's.
Here's another Steve Wynn side project: Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3.

The Dream Syndicate just added 5 dates in May on the East Coast. D.C., PA, NYC (2 shows) and Somerville, MA.

I saved an image with a blurb about their new album due in April. I'm going to look for that now. The image won't load probably because I'm on my iPhone. The album is due in May & called These Times.

Loved Stan & Ollie. Saw it a week ago. Thought it was perfectly cast. It was also really about trying to avoid being obsolete.
I'll be back with my True Detective thoughts. Just wanted to remind some folks that this Sunday's episode is already on HBO Go/HBO Now because of the Super Bowl.

We could vote for a setlist in realtime via cellphones.
The band could give us 30 seconds to vote on 2 songs and then they can tell which one got the most votes.

Found this on YouTube, says 2005. The clothes are the same as in the photos on the acltv link. Starts off with ALTWYS.

Yeah. It looks like they snuck in some pics from their 2004 taping which only aired as a half hour split episode with another band that escapes me at the moment. The 1999 show I can't find anywhere online. The 2012 show I still have saved on my DVR.
Edit: OK. It looks like the ACL link has pics from all of the shows except for 1999.

Anyone else NOT receive any email announcing these dates? If I wasn't on here or on Facebook, I would have never known.
-
Yes. It was Can't Stand It. They played it with a few guys on violin. Cool hearing Jay Leno mention that they were about to start a world tour with R.E.M. in June of that year.

The songs are correct in the prior post, but here's the official PBS link.

This thread gives me the courage to finally make a Mandela Effect thread.

Newbury Comics is selling WARM with an autographed booklet.
I just received this item. The cd is wrapped and the autographed booklet was out in the open in the package, but isn't destroyed at all. Weird to have 2 booklets, but I guess that it makes sense.

last Sunday i went to the Coolidge Corner event where they screened the original, and Claudio Simonettt's Goblin provided the live score. pretty cool! Goblin played a bunch of songs afterwards too.
That's awesome! Those Italians knew how to manipulate light. The original is such a colorful film and so well done. I didn't know of that event until Sunday evening. It popped up as a recommended event on FB.
-
Another option is to just show up day of event and pay for parking and you can hear the band fairly well. This works well at Gillette Stadium.
-
Ah yeah autocorrect lol
No. You were right. Suspirium is the name of the song & Suspiria is the name of the film.
-
Yes. I was smart to go see it right away. It only lasted a week around here (Boston area). Are you talking about Suspiria?
Amazon distributed it, so it'll be on Amazon Prime at some point next year. No idea how long the turn around is.

It was good and the lights were great but the best part was surprisum wished he play more from the soundtrack! Still fun show and he seemed to be having fun

WARM is the presale code.

Great song. The guitar reminds me of I Must Be High.

You may want to check this book out:
Salamander: The Story of the Mormon Forgery Murders
Thanks! I looked at the Wiki entry & it sounds fascinating.
I loved The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs. It had one of the best openings that I've ever seen. Classic Coen Bros. I'll admit that it did try my patience a bit in the middle, but I enjoyed each vignette which were quite different from one to the next. I need to rewatch the ending to get a clearer grasp on the message of it. It all seemed fresh & you'll need to tune into their unique frequency to enjoy it. Now that I'm familiar with the dialog, I'll be waiting for classic lines to hear again.

I walked out of The Girl In The Spider's Web. While I enjoyed David Fincher's unnecessary remake in 2011, I knew that he'd never be back for any of the possible U.S. sequels. 7 years have passed and they decided to go with the 1st book in the series not written by the original author, Stieg Larsson. It was one of those boring films that feel twice as long as it actually is. I left after an hour and it really felt like I was there for 2 hours. I'd be willing to give it another chance, if it ever becomes a .99 cent rental on iTunes.
I thoroughly enjoyed Can You Ever Forgive Me?. Melissa McCarthy & Richard E. Grant make a great duo. I found the concept of forgery & there being a market for people paying for letters from dead celebrities completely fascinating in today's current climate. The film really made me question authenticity & the belief that people attach to a piece of paper that states it as such. Also, it shows how people can start to believe their own lies, even when they know that they're dealing with falsehoods.
I'm excited for the new Coen Bros. movie dropping on Netflix tomorrow, but I really want to see it in a theater. Lucky for me I have the option to do both.

I have Seconds stuck in my head.
One of my favorites off of War. Wish they'd bring it back on the road with them. The way that they've been dipping into their back catalog it seems likely now for the future.

Some very quick bits from yesterday's U2 concert in Berlin. Bono said that "We're going away now..." which fueled speculation about the end of the band....
But fans spoke with crew members after the show & they were asked by U2 to clear their calendars for Sept-Dec 2019 for an Australian stadium tour. It sounds like it will be a completely new tour.
Anton Corbijn said that the proposed Nov date (next week) for the Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour concert DVD has been postponed to March because they want it to play in select theaters.
The band also has some 360 degree filmed shows that will come to light somehow. Virtual Reality? The one off Apollo Theater show in June & the gig in Newark that same month were filmed that way.
