What's people's take on this? Sounds pretty solid to this human's ears.
-
Destroyer - Trouble In Dreams
-
I haven't really ever got into Nick Cave's albums, but right now this sounds bloody marvelous. One question: what next? Should I investigate The Birthday Party first, or begin straight with the Bad Seeds albums? Any experts?

Your musical compatibility rating with cryptique is: Super.
Can't think of anything great you hadn't heard, so here are a couple of decent Finnish power pop bands:
These guys had Jon Auer singing backup on their last album, and Ken Stringfellow on the one before that.
Good song, if you don't mind the accents. Ultrasport - Nothing Can Go Wrong
-
I've been pretty burned out on Wilco for a while now.
-
Revolution 9 on repeat.
-
BSP - DYLRM?
-
-
Josh Ritter - Empty Hearts
Akron/Family - I've Got Some Friends
Jens Lekman - The Opposite Of Hallelujah
Vampire Weekend - Boston/Ladies Of Cambridge
Ultrasport - God Save The Architects
Trying to parse together my end of the year list.

There's propably a gazillion of these, but Caesars' We Got To Leave is definitely one of them.

Long may you run Mr. Young, long may you run.

Great band.

Leak or promo? So psyched about that, Krankenhaus? was pretty great.

I liked exactly zero Beatles covers until I heard The Black Keys doing "She Said, She Said." I suppose it's the exception that proves the rule (the rule being don't cover the Beatles).
How about Aimee Mann & Michael Penn covering "Two of Us"?
-
That's it, I'm not listening to _that_ band anymore.
-
Three shoo-ins:
The National - Boxer
Spoon - Ga^5
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Other favorites (which I find unnecessary/impossible to put in any particular order...yet):
Explosions In The Sky - All of a Sudden, I Miss Everyone
Ultrasport - False Start City
The Snake The Grass The Crown - Cotton Teeth
Magnolia Electric Co. - Sojourner
Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala
Vampire Weekend - Blue CD-R
Josh Ritter - Historical Conquests Of
Akron/Family - Love Is Simple
iLiKETRAiNS - Elegies To Lessons Learnt
And there are also a couple of records I need to listen more, for example that Bon Iver one that a lot of people keep praising.
-
I finally got this together with Pink, and it's so much better than I anticipated. Pretty, pretty, pretty good band.
-
Guess the album based off of our skillz...remember - the worse the better.
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?
...
When you said "worse the better", you meant the guess, right?
-
Another Brit band called Kent would also be on that list... I believe my fave CD is called Isola...
Kent is a Swedish band.

Oh, and lol @ me answering to Essox's posts.
