you're funny. it was definitely a great time. the violinist was awesome, and matt (berninger, btw) did open his eyes quite often, though he seemed a bit nervous between songs. he was drinking white wine, and thought he had a floatie at one point... it turned out to be something stuck to the bottom of his cup. well, it was entertaining at the time.

heeeeeeey! why is it that i'm just noticing this statement NOW?!?!? you must have written that around the time you were mad at me for missing You Am I - which i STILL regret, by the way. anyhoo, you're probably right, T... but still Boxer is poised to be the album of the year for me. donkey balls or no.

i didn't keep a setlist, but the national in denver on tuesday were fucking incredible!! they capped off a great long weekend of music that included okkervil river, monolith festival and lcd soundsystem/arcade fire. i'm still reeling... that's kyle taking a picture on the lower right... haha. his probably turned out better than mine. i the national....

yeah, he seemed genuinely surprised that so many people turned up. it was a great set.

Last night was the first time I'd seen them, but they were incredible. Britt was all smiles and they sounded fantastic. We were watching from the 2nd row from the top, so the view left a lot to be desired, but the sound sure was great... I missed all of the Lips except the first 2 and the last 3 or 4 songs to see Yacht (me and about 30 other people... ) which was a lot of fun in it's own way.

i'll be seeing dr. dog next month at the same 200-capacity venue as last time i saw them. more excited for that than i've been for wilco in a looooong time.

saw OR for the first time tonight, and am currently in love with anything to do with will sheff. god what a great fucking show.

but... i'm leaving RIGHT NOW to go see okkervil river... ...

this is a show that i've been meaning to check out since it came out - a couple years ago? still haven't seen an episode though. seems like it'd be right up my sense of humor alley...

i see. i'm already going to be at red rocks for monolith tomorrow and saturday. i was going to ask them if it's ok for me to stay on sunday and monday since i'll be at the arcade fire/lcd show as well. solace is going to be at monolith and arcade fire too, we could have a mini-vc-summit...
