I consider myself a professional auntie... Though I can't really recommend baby toys (baby toys are baby toys...), when the tyke gets older, please introduce him/her to Laurie Berkner and Justin Roberts, two of the best "kids" artists that are good enough they won't make you crazy like Raffi or Veggie Tales. I wasn't lucky enough to be at any Rockies games over the weekend, but my friend Leah was. The "first" last day of the season: The "second" last day of the season - Matt Holliday for MV!!!!! It's the purple foam finger that did it:

I've got a choice to make whether to see Film School or New Pornographers in about a month... Not sure if Neko & Dan will still be on the NP tour... that would weigh heavy on the decision. NP: Just got back from seeing them... A bigger, less intimate show than the last time, but still, I Midlake. PS - no comments necessary from the Welsh Dandy.

First I have to remember the noise that jellyfish make... that Halloween was like 7 years ago...

We tried that last night, but the delay was awful... at least 7 seconds. I remember the good old days when the radio & TV synced up pretty well. I guess this is what the Janet Jackson's of the world do for us.

Also, I don't know how it would go over for a kid, but one year I went as a jellyfish - I pinned lots of pretty ribbon to an umbrella and proceeded to make the noise that apparently I think jellyfish make...

I went as the movie theatre floor once. One of my favorites - my sister went one year as "roadkill". She wore black sweats, painted yellow dotted lines up the middle and pinned a couple stuffed animals to her clothes.

Yeah no shit. My heart just drops to my stomach when that guy comes in...

Thank you, my friends! The Rockies gave me the best birthday present ever by (yet again) kicking Trevor Hoffman's ass. In the 13th. Booyeah.

The Rockies have actually pounded Hoffman on a pretty regular basis for the past few years. I mean, Helton's 13 for 22 against the dude. And might I say...

damn, that is a hell of a dilemma. i can only vouch for okkervil river - they put on an amazing show... but they also seem to tour more places than RPC. let us know who you choose and what it's like!

I really like both those bands - how I wish they were coming through Colorado. I e-mailed Chris (of RPC) to see if they had plans to and he initially told me they'd be coming through in early November. He later broke my heart when he told me those plans had fallen through.

GO ROCKIES!!! this is the most excited i've been at the end of the baseball year since, like... 12 years ago...

that's what I was gonna say. I loved their show, but Ii love the band, so... I didn't care for her album the first couple times I listened to it. I was able to appreciate it MORE after I saw her live.

it didn't get very good reviews, for the most part, but i like it. indie-pop about adolescence. definitely worth a listen at least.
