limiting myself to albums that were actually released by 3/31, these are the top 10 (no, wait, 11... i have to include dr. dog because they fucking rule) for me so far (in no particular order): Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder The Shins - Wincing The Night Away Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? Jamie T - Panic Prevention (OK, not released in the US, but it's just too fucking good...) The Besnard Lakes - Are The Dark Horse Papercuts - Can't Go Back Menomena - Friend And Foe LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silve

based on my ann arbor/detroit concert experiences, i would agree with you there.

luckily we didn't have any moshers last night.... i already can't wait to see them again, it was a great show! np: calm down dearest....
-
no doubt i'm in the minority here, but i love conor's voice. even the old shit, it's just so... genuine.
-
of course, spoon was awesome before, so....

i got through 'hot knives' and decided to listen to something else. i don't think i'm in a conor mood tonight, and i need to hear this album when i'm in the mood. from what i did hear, his voice has certainly matured, though i was never bothered by it in the first place... and i really love 'four winds'. i'll give the album another go tomorrow.

i was listening to cassadaga... but after 4 or 5 songs just wasn't into it. i know it's wishful thinking, but i really want to like the album, so i'm waiting until i'm in more of a bright eyes kinda mood.. so now: because they kicked my ass so thoroughly last night. if you haven't seen them live... you are missing out in a big way. and they're coming back through CO so i get to see them in boulder on april 9.

got mine about 2 minutes after the presale started...

great show. dop were upstaged by the besnard lakes for sure, and not quite as good live as i'd hoped they'd be. but bl alone was easily worth the $8 cover charge. plus, $1 pbr's all night! bl setlist: Rides The Rails Devastation For Agent 13 On Bedford And Grand Because Tonight Disaster And You Lied To Me full report here, if you care.

el-p: i'll sleep when you're dead

it was your earlier post that prompted me to check it out...
-
i think i may have listened to this like 50 times this week...
-
only a few weeks until i get to see the long winters/the broken west/stars of track and field. now THAT should be a great show...
-
i love the new album... and i know i'm in the minority in these parts, but i think it's just as good as the eps. and firecracker is indeed awesome.
-
no shit. but i just. can't. stop.... i'll have to check up on tlobf... hutch is also a touch... hoT. i wish of montreal would come to denver..

i think armchair is going to trump eggs for me and i can sum it up in 4 words - "the happy birthday song". i really dislike that song, and the fact that it closes the album only magnifies its impact on the album. don't get me wrong - the rest of eggs is absolutely amazing, but there is just not a song on armchair that annoys me so much. on a side note - i played "bad aunt" today and looked for an on demand show to keep my nieces occupied... lo and behold the andrew bird "dr. stringz" episode popped up. that's really the only tv show i let them watch when i'm in charge, so i was thrilled t
