to be fair, what we call "christmas" isn't really a christian holiday. the celebration of the winter solstice predates christianity. early christians just stuck the name, "christmas", on this existing festival. some christians refuse to celebrate it because of this. nearly all the traditions associated with it (e.g. gift-giving, tree-trimming, etc) have nothing to do with christianity.

my point was that i seriously doubt that die-hard partisans like yourself will ever attribute a worsening of anything directly to an obama policy. anything that goes wrong for the next 20 years on a democrat's watch will be blamed on bush. including hurricanes.

i would suggest that the mere presence of highly ordered systems (e.g. the solar system, dogs, amoebas, dna, etc) points to the existence of a creative force at work in the universe somehow.

if an obama presidency gives rise to ron paul, then it will all have been worth it.

if i remember correctly, the palin interviews starting taking a toll on his numbers even before the financial crisis hit. she's his biggest problem.
