  1. I'll bet it says "YOU ARE IN ____________ (insert city)"
  2. I haven't heard it yet, but the fact that they're trying to go in a different direction this time is part of what makes them ambitious.
  3. If nobody in the band is on stage, you're not really being tricked into thinking the band are playing the music (or making the sounds, in this case). That's quite different than having hidden musicians playing along while the band is performing on stage.
  4. I'm proud that they're my hometown band, and I'm psyched to get their new record. Even though I haven't liked everything they've done, I think they're wildly ambitious and I love that.
  5. I don't really know what Neil Peart does, but their concerts are among the most visually oriented shows you could ever see. Synching up all their videos, lasers, etc., without some control over the tempo of the music would be almost impossible.
  6. Geddy Lee manages to play keyboards with his feet while singing and playing bass. If Mick Fleetwood can't simplty play drums on mid-tempo soft rock tunes he should throw in the towel.
  7. Textiles might be a good thing for you to incorporate into your project.
  8. As a tourist in Peru, you will hear El Condor Pasa several times each day. Not the Paul Simon version. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_C%C3%B3ndor_Pasa_(song) There's some pretty rad stuff on the two Roots of Chicha: Psychedelic Cumbias from Peru compilations.
  9. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I finally got Me Oh My a couple weeks ago. More good stuff. Now Playing.
  10. Yeah, looking into it further, I guess they do have an open pit area for some shows. I never knew that, and they've never had this at any concert I've attended there. Seems liike a Dylan/Wilco/etc. show wouldn't justify a pit, but what do I know? I guess you'll have to go out tot he lawn if you want to sit down.
  11. The Atlanta venue has always been reserved seating, plus a general admission lawn behind the reserved seats. If you have a seat number, it should be reserved. To my knowledge, there has never been a general admission show there.
  12. Thanks for that. Too bad no Atlanta date. I got to see him in a 200 capacity club about ten years ago and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
  13. Chastain is notorious for rude audiences. Many artists have stopped their shows because of bad behavior from the crowd. I saw Neil Young stop and abort a quiet song during the Greendale tour. A friend of mine saw people throw cheese at Jethro Tull during a table set-up show. The best, though, is this: http://www.cmt.com/news/20-questions/1535357/20-questions-with-garrison-keillor.jhtml 7. I'm a fan from Atlanta and am so sorry that the audience was so rude last year when you brought the radio show to Chastain Park. We've seen many talented artists -- from Randy Newman and Lyle Lovett
  14. Richard Thompson is on this tour? That makes me more likely to go.
  15. As far as amphitheaters go, the one they're playing in Atlanta is pretty average. I've been to dozens of shows there over the years and I never thought the sound was any worse than any other venue that holds 15,000+. Wilco's sound crew would be responsible for the sound, and they have a very good track record in all sorts of venues, so I wouldn't worry about the sound too much. Sarah might be thinking about Chastain Park Amphitheater (Wilco played there on the Sky Blue Sky tour...I saw Sarah there), which is widely hated. The amphitheater they're playing this summer is getting pretty dat
  16. They opened for the Stones in Atlanta a few years ago.
  17. Yeah, it's so good. I finally filed it away last night after listening to it 15 times, or so. Her next album has been recorded and will hopefully come out this year. Have you heard Cyrk 2? Good stuff on there, too.
  18. I don't feel like uploading photos rtight now, so... Au Pairs - Playing With a Different Sex Cate Le Bon - Cyrk Peach Kelli Pop (the one with the slightly less jail-baity photo on the cover) White Fence - Vol 1 & 2 Velvet Underground - s/t Ty Segall - Goodbye Bread Marvin Gaye - what's Going On Shuggie Otis - Inspiration Informantion
  19. No idea. I wonder if that's oen he sold at his auction several years ago.
  20. I know, and your point is a valid one that I agree with. I just have a problem with Joe. He's obviously talented, but also a giant douche, based on some interviews of his that I've read.
  21. Joe Bonamassa...ugh, let's not even go there.
  22. I think he said at one time the The Band made him want to cut out the guitar solos. Then again, he said that at the end of Cream, but he kept doing long solos with two more bands before his singer-songwriter/very little soloing era started.
