  1. bobs giving this his speed treatment, not the burst of energy this spot demands. still good.
  2. one of the best phil and friends shows i saw was in camden on the tour with mike and trey. Trey played the whole second set, incredible show. Set two jam> Terraipin station> St. Stephen> The Eleven> Rosemary> Desire> Rosemary> Feedback> Fire On The Mountain> Iknow You Rider ecnore: Box of rain trey just played guitar no singing, really was a great set. Perhaps I'll post it up here sometime.
  3. Ha, I actually enjoy phil's sings pre 80's and post 90's.
  4. dam wish phil was singing this one.
  5. wow nothing to kill a transition like a voice over. Are they teasing so what now?
  6. starting to pull it together. Jeff sounds good.
  7. 4/18/2009 Worcester, Mass. Set One: Feel Like A Stranger Goin Down The Road Feeling Bad> Mountains of the Moon> Dupree's Diamond Blues Althea> Bird Song> China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider Set Two Dancing In The Street> Milestones> Terripan Station
  8. I thought it was a preety good set, minus the china cat>rider disaster.
  9. is warren playing bobbys part? maybe its just during the verses. out of the shows ive listened to that was the first real cringe worthy tune thus far.
  10. This has is helping rationalize my ticket purchase. You decide if your going to other chicago show?
  11. so is anyone tuning in for the stream? You can get a free trail account for 3 days on the sirius site. 4/18/2009 Worcester, Mass. 12. Right but from the two songs we've herd this seems to be nothing like that. I can't imagine Hunter came up with "I'm listening to billy joe shaver and reading james joyce" its just too damn dylan (or its Hunter having a laugh). Desire sees Levy writing story songs, much like plays. These songs though sound dylanesque, not like Hunters style at all. But then again I guess we haven't herd to much from Bob Hunter as of late.
  13. Possibly I believe he had throat cancer. Something with his throat, which initially led to his retirement. His drumming was on point though. I saw a webcast though of him sitting in with Ratdog on "She Belong To Me" and he was so off beat my jaw hit the ground, once bob got done the first verse or two or he turned around and started telling levon something (id imagine it was about his playing) and suddenly it got smooth.
  14. Even if I wasn't a fan of Hunters work I'd be psyched that dylan is collaborating on lyrics. Like it or not this is not the bob dylan of 1965. WHile Love and Theft and Time Out Of Mind are two of his best albums I felt Modern Times stunk, the biggest failure being the lyrics, it sounded like Dylan needed an editor. The lyrics in Beyond Her Lies Nothing and I Feel A Change Coming on in no way remind me of Robert Hunters other work, which makes me feel as though he was acting as more of an editor. The lyrics (esp on I Feel A Change Coming On) sound distinctly later era Dylan. I can s
  15. He played here last summer opening for Phil Lesh at Charter one. It was supposed to rain hard that day and the venue was empty when Levon went on, even so he gave it his all. A fantastic set. If your a fan of the band or americana in general his show is not to be missed.
  16. I think most people have never given the dead a real chance, they wrongly assume its all tripped out jazz jams when in acutality they are one of the best Americana acts out there. The lyrics to some of those tunes are my favorite parts believe it or not.
  17. Just bought two tickets for 50 each from stub hub, they say they are insured. WHOO HOOO!
  18. Anyone know anything about this site http://www.ticketsreview.com/ there are a few for under face on the side or behind the stage. I always get nervous buying tickets from a reseller online.
  19. I really would like to hit one of the chicago dates but I don't think I justify it finically. I keep checking craigslist for something to show up under face but it seems like people won't budge. Id go to the lot to look but I can't see paying for parking on a "chance" that I may get in. ETA: No shit, I go on craigslist just after I posted this, found two 100 hundred dollar tickets for 75. I dont know weather I should go for it or hold back. grrrr. Blah boo AHH! The hard choices.
  20. I'm guessing no one has listened to Greensboro yet or maybe you don't plan on doing so. But I highly recommend caution through space. good psychedelic stuff http://www.archive.org/details/thedead2009....DPA4017.flac16
  21. Yeah I was getting worried he was sick or something to that end. Having listened to the two dylan tracks I don't hear hunter in the lines, but I guess I didn't hear hunter coming through on those rhythm devils tracks (anyone recall fountains of wood?)
  22. I'm sure your all aware I'm no OBama fan but I know some of you are and you might be intrested to hear that the band stopped by the white house before the show. and as im posting i just herd that Robert Hunter co-wrote the whole new dylan record http://www.bobdylanisis.com/Dylan%20Digest.htm
  23. I think Frank probably vomited. I'm excited to hear this Jam> Dark Star> King Solomon's Marbles> Drums with Tipper Gore> Space> Have you listened to greensboro yet?
