  1. Recommend a few sbds to check out, I never really have dug through the solo shows (that is until I started seeing phil). Personnaly I really liked the sless/cambell/osby/bracco/molo lineup.
  2. It looks like ol' phil has been "puffinstuff" and it aint the sticky green.
  3. How is it Radioheads fault if they're fan base isn't doing anything to change the world? I can't think of any rock band that led a social movement, marketing might lead some to believe otherwise. As for the subject matter of their material, its art. If you want something different, listen to more albums. I never understood this argument against Radioheads music, is there any band that has a record to suit every mood? I think there are only a small number of places that "rock" music goes, I can't even begin to think of being musically satisfied by listening to one band.
  4. Jackie is a good rock guitarist but he doesn't add much, even though the dead psu show was sloppy bobby is way more interesting on rhythm. Plus I think Larry needs someone stronger to play off of, the band sounded so much better with Sless and Scofeild. Ryan Adams I thought was lacking with phil but I think the songs of his that phil picked up sound great in a phil set, where as the jackie material doesn't go anywhere. At june chicago phil show his Riot In Cell Block #9 was the first time I thought one of his songs fit in and actually added to the set. As for the comments about the
  5. Is it just me or does this bass not have as much well bass to it. When phil drops a bomb with it, it doesn't seem as earth shattering. But then again maybe the lights had me distracted. And as for Jackie Greene, go home already. I was just listening to the soundboard form the warfeild and it sounds like he just drags. I've seen five shows with him three were great, one of the others was the worst phil show i've seen. Nice voice, but he songs add nothing to the mix (unlike the ryan adams material), and his guitar playing doesn't go anywhere. The cue thing is a phil and friends d
  6. wonder how many of these are covers. I herd him do Oh Lonsome Me a year or two ago and it was awesome. Could there be some buddy holly and kinks action on there?
  7. Love that oregon show. The jam out of china cat is great as is the Dark Star> El Paso. Have you seen the Sunshine Daydream video?
  8. THIS EPISODE of Democracy Now! features three great peices on how voters are being purged and what you can do about it. As for that dinner nobody else vomited a little?
  9. I think its fair to say the wooks will be out in full force! On another board someone mentioned that they should stream it. Although i'd appreciate a free stream, id go to a movie theatre like they did for brooklyn and coventry
  10. Great post. I got the set list from the philzone, usually a little unreliable. I am currently listening to this source (I'm only at Franklins) and while it is quiet rough, its by no means bad. A little rehearsal is all they need. Warren doesn't do it for me on the lead though, there are a few other people I would like to hear over warren (sless or trey or maybe some guy named Jerry Garcia ). ETA: I've been up too penn state a few times, your right it really is beautiful in the fall.
  11. There was no broadcast of any kind, I'm not even sure they allowed taping. Looks like it was all killer, no filler. Truckin > US Blues Help on the Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower Playin in the Band> Dark Star > St. Stephen > Unbroken Chain > Other One > Throwin Stones > Playin reprise Encore Phil rap > Bobby rap > Touch of Grey > Not Fade Away
  12. Yeah, except its unoriginal. At least the outtake has its own thing going, its not a direct rip off of what came before.
  13. didn't know you were going, have fun. Tell the boys we say high!
  14. None of you find it odd that no one has been charged with the 9/11 attacks yet we have fought two wars in its name? Don't you think we should have accused someone before taking two countries to war? Goto the FBI most wanted site and pull up Osama Bin Laden, he has been credited with the attack on the USS Cole and the world trade center in the 90's but nothing about 2001.
  15. Talk about awesome, I already have tickets to ravi shankar at 3, then glenn and nels at 10, SWEET! Anyone know what the cover is? I've tried calling the bar without any luck.
  16. I won't say definitive only because my knowledge of shows is not as vast as some of the others on here but for me: Dicks Picks 12 Truckin>Other One Jam>Spanish Jam>Wharf Rat 5/7/77 1971/11/14 preceded by an awesome other one>me and my uncle> other one 1973/6/10 Dark Star> He's Gone> Wharf Rat (i probably would have shit my pants
  17. Absolute but when i bring it up the fact that they aren't talking single payer health care cracking down on corporate crime Cutting the military budget withdrawal from the middle east AND SAYING NO! to nuclear power all i hear are crickets. I figured the dictatorial take over of the united states might get people talking. guess not.
  18. Thats what came to my mind right away. Down right disturbing. Dont you Obama supports find it odd he isn't talking about this?
  19. I think your spot on. When people are confronted with information different then their own they usually back off or ignore the post.
  20. Do you believe its impossible to have elected officials that follow the will of the people?
  21. I agree, I wasn't saying constitutionally. As for the third party thing, i'll have to look into those authors, but i'm calling bullshit.
