  1. I was actually thinking about this the other day and noticed most of my favorite bands names began with the letter B (Beatles, Band, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Beach Boys)
  2. Pretty fucking cool. I've seen Trey will his solo band quite a few times. I preferred the band he had prior to the fall 05 tour. The big band was incredible. One of the shows I caught was the headlining set at bonnaroo 04. Great show; still listen to it; the classical set was really special. Although it was shame so many didn't "get it".
  3. If I remeber correctly I think I herd that more highway construction was going to take place to prepare for the influx of people.
  4. Can I move in? Also Michael Pollan is awesome, someone else mentioned it but Omnivores Dilemma is incredible!
  5. Any fans on here? I just saw The Ballad of Ramblin Jack documentary the other night and highly recommend it. I also have his disc "The Long Ride" from a few years back and its some great folk music (awesome version of St. James Infirmary with Dave Von Ronk). Seem like Jack has been passed over for the most part.
  6. Awesome news. I wouldn't be surprised if they play together in a surprise appearance before coming back with an announced gig. Does anyone wanna recommend a live phish disc? I have the halloween shows were they do Remain In The Light and Loaded, I've also got volume 12.
  7. Obama is not talking health care because of the military budget. You should all check out this article from the LA Times: Indefensible Spending
  8. Obama is very careful how he talks about Iraq; were not going anywhere. The man is further to the right then Nixon. Obama can talk domestic polices all he wants but their not going to happen unless we shed this military budget, something Obama isn't planning on doing.
  9. was just about to post this, very sad. I can't even imagine how many songs use his signature beat.
  10. Bob Star is on iclips.net right now live from Mountain Jam Set One: Jam>Help on The Way>Slipknot>Easy Answers, She Belongs To Me*, Money For Gasoline, Loser#, Loose Lucy, Two Dijinn *with Levon Helm, #Warren Haynes, Bobby started help on the way singing: "help on the way" and then laughing having completely forgotten the words. The band jammed and mark karan told him the lyrics. When I saw Ratdog at the riv a year or two ago they had an applause sign above the band and everytime bob would fuck up it would go off. Warren sat in in with levon, i imagine he'll sit
  11. Are there not more then two sides to every story? We have more then two brands of toothpaste, hell there are more then two brands of viagra. Nothing is black and white; so then why are we only given two options when it comes to politics? We have a duopoly in this country. I've spoken to Nader personally and the reason he won't back out is because the democrats aren't a better option then the republicans. There is much more wrong with this country then Obama address. Nader brings to the table what I (and many others) believe to be the most important issues this election. Yet none of the
  12. For the past for years I have moved on August 31. Last year it resulted in me and my roomates packing the moving truck, running downtown to catch MMW with Scofeild and then moving in to are knew apartment until 4 am. Looks like thats going to happen again this year, cant wait to see Ornette. I hope they keep the fence down again this year.
  13. Regardless of how you feel about him running, he makes a lot of good points. And the one about the Taft Hartley Union Act is one point.
  14. Just because the concept was lost doesn't make it wrong. Our government works very hard to suppress labor unions. Have any of you read Howard Zinn's "Peoples History Of The United States". I'm currently working on Ralph Nader's campaign team here in Illinois; one of his main issues is repleaing the Taft-Hartley anti- union law. Check it out: http://www.votenader.org/issues/taft-hartley/
  15. You right Lou there aren't enough people singing those kinds of songs these days. This is from Democracy Now the other day http://www.democracynow.org/2008/5/27/utah..._legendary_folk
  16. ouch, i caught a divided sky but it was subpar.
  17. Dylan is way more then a storyteller, his lyrical contents works not only in song but on the page. Most Wilco songs don't do this nearly as well, nor go nearly as deep as Dylan goes. I'm sure Jeff is probably laughing if he reads this. I mean with all do respect, the man doesn't even grow his own beard.
  18. Yeah he surprised with that second set. Kind of odd that he was going chronologically and then throws in a later record at random that repeats a bunch o tunes from the night before. I think tonight is going to be three sets, opening with an acoustic. Too bad there isn't a live stream.
  19. And they're awesome for, I don't think anyones "mad".
  20. yeah its 9 there, i don't know why the link wouldn't have been up earlier, usually you hear the pre-show music.
  21. yeah this is pretty pretty.... whack.
  22. I think were gonna get stood up.
  23. anybody else wondering where the link is?
  24. hahahahaahaahahahaa hahahahahahahahahahah
  25. It's like where waldo. There are whole sites now dedicated to finding weird stuff on there. I believe at one time there was a drug bust. You guys should check out google earth if you haven't yet, or their one of the night sky, thats pretty incredible. My grandfathers car is actually on there as well.
