  1. Holy balls, so do I! It always makes my wife's eyes roll, which might be part of the appeal. She's not really into Kelly Clarkson, but she did buy that first Clay Aiken CD, watches The View, and makes a point to see that reality show with that Brady Bunch survivor. But she likes Wilco.
  2. That's cool, too, as long as you're not using a spatula to scrape your bag before scraping my burger.
  3. There is no such thing. As far as public nursing goes, I'm all for it: It's natural, it's important, it's completely non-sexual. Proper decorum should include a cover, though.
  4. If it hasn't already been posted above, here's The YouTube clip.
  5. Hamstie Ridgeway OR Blackie Stonebridge
  6. I'm sympathetic to this point-of-view, certainly, and grateful to the small business owners who contribute to the economies of their communities by providing jobs with decent wages. But I'm also keenly aware that many "successful" people found success by accessing their privileged circumstances and by exploiting those in unprivileged circumstances. To use an exaggerated example, the Walton family has willfully amassed their fortune on the backs of disadvantaged, desperate workers who, yes, actually do work their asses off, too, with none of the financial reward. I'm not suggesting rich peop
  7. Is this it? I think an official region 1 DVD release of the entire series came out just last week, though. I see your Leonard Part 6 and raise you Krippendorf's Tribe.
  8. Ford Fairlaine is bad, but it's no Meet Wally Sparks.
  9. For me, it's Freddy Got Fingered.
  10. I loved that movie when I was a kid. I haven't seen it in probably 15-20 years, though.
  11. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a very good time despite being utterly disposable. Nothing really matters during the film beyond the present moment, but Robert Downey, Jr. gives one of his most likable, amusing performances, the lightning dialogue is to be cherished, and writer-director Shane Black conceived some very funny situations--the best scenes are those that tweak the conventions of film noir, and I'm dying to work "Why in pluperfect hell did you pee on the corpse?" into my casual conversation.
  12. Too many Thomas Hardy novels, eh?
  13. Blunt wouldn't pass a high school creative writing class, that's for sure.
  14. Thing is, while Blunt completely botches it by writing at the level of a sixth-grade girl, that subject could make for interesting material. As evidence, I offer this from my old friend Bernstein:
  15. AWATT, I'm guessing you would respond well to Cold Roses.
  16. That's it! For the life of me I couldn't remember the name of it. Thanks!!!
  17. I used to have a terrific free audio converter that handled all sorts of different files (not FLAC), but I lost the software when my PC crashed a few months back. Anyone have a recommendation for a simple replacement?
  18. It's a terrific venue--intimate, comfortable, well-maintained. My wife and I will be at the M. Ward show, too!
  19. The 1949 film of All the King's Men is really great, too.
