  1. That blonde guy has contemporary female hipster bangs.
  2. Well, I think the hissyfit involving Nationals tv rights has something to do with hit. He sucks.
  3. 1. Head 2. Shoulders 3. Knees 4. and toes 5. Knees and toes.
  4. Didn't he have the tv rights to your second kid's birth?
  5. Well, it's complicated, because, even with teams being not that far back a lot of things have to happen to go past a bunch of teams. Keep in mind that a lot of these teams play each other frequently--someone's got to win those games. When all those teams out west play each other you can't make up ground on all of them.
  6. No, that doesn't seem unlikely. It's there for the taking. 87 wins took it last year? Probably will only be 85 or so this year because of the massive butt-whooping the NL got in interleague. 76 games left...47-29? I guess it's possible.
  7. Hey, Ozzie finally got Liriano on the team. Nice going.
  8. There's also the Royals. I think that's about it. Oh, I think someone mentioned the Astros and something about Roger Clemens, but let's be serious. He can't suck up innings like he used to.
  9. Last six games .353 avg .389 obp .471 slg Believe it or not I'm hunting the Mendoza line. I can see it just beyond the horizon.
  10. The horse is someone to root for. Otherwise it's kind of bleh.
  11. When you have a horse in the race the homerun derby is pretty cool.
  12. Paul Konerko did that a few years ago. Or maybe that was just because back then he would only have half a good season.
  13. If that link doesn't end up working, the MLB audio thingy is very reasonable at $15/season. You can listen to whatever radio broadcast you want on there. Even in the home market or whatever. I enjoy listening to Hawk call games. That doesn't mean he's good, necessarily. I've heard him on the TV since I was 11 or so. As for objectivity, he frequently says (first person, yes) "We got away with one right there," when a call goes the White Sox way. I enjoy the way he falls silent after calling the other team's go-ahead homerun in a key game. He's obviously distraught and there's great pathos in
  14. It's the White Sox who looked like the softball team the Red Sox were last year, this series. Sorry for that sentence. Anyway, for some reason their pitching hasn't been as good as last year (traded an inconsistent, often hurt pitcher for an inconsistent, never hurt pitcher), and their defense hasn't been as good (by right it should be as good. Anderson is an upgrade defensively over Rowand, but I don't know how the platoon of Anderson and Mackowiak is compared to Rowand). Hitting is much better. Bunting has been real bad, as it was today...baserunning was bad, too. Anyway, I'm sure the White
  15. And then they flew to London to perform at Live Aid.
  16. White Sox pitchers can't get out of their own way with 2 outs and 2 strikes. Red Sox pitchers pulled an El Duque. Le sigh.
  17. Anyone else think that press release is a little much?
  18. Joe Crede's only 2 behind him. Also not an all star.
  19. Unofficially it's about 2 days old. There is also a story out of Boston that, contrary to other reports, Manny is staying in the All Star game because he wants to play for Ozzie and it was just that Tito wanted him to sit out. So what's the deal, man.
  20. Well, they've won 9 straight series and swept only two of those, so I'd say it's a pretty good prediction. With that said, the White Sox might struggle tonight against Lester. They often have a hard time against rookies they haven't seen before.
