  1. Later today I will have the inside scoop for a good VC Summit point near the Aronoff. My son in law (native Cincinnatian and beer connoisseur) was mowing the lawn when I called for the lowdown this morning, and Bethanydear refused to go get him.
  2. beadsman buddy, you must to chill.
  3. No worries my friend. Thread killer is usually a disparaging comment, but I think you get the gold star today.
  4. I can still hear Leo's voice thundering around in here.
  5. If Sarah sees those Kotche wristbands she may attempt to paralyse you with her chi and take them from you. Fair warning.
  6. I'm gonna start merging threads now. You have been forewarned. For relative newbies I apologize if it apears I am stealing your thunder, but it's not really neccesary to start a new thread for your thought on the subject at hand. The forum turns into anarchy and hard to read otherwise. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.
  7. "Are you gonna cry again if we listen to this, mom?'
  8. "Oh Johnny. You're a vision in plaid!"
  9. It's the Sky Blue Sky Tour! The Wilcos are coming! So my dates for the evening will be my son, his girlfriend and my 11 year old daughter. My daughter has threatened to stand up on her chair and do air windmills. "I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy this show as much, mom. I really prefer standing in the front row." Who else is coming? More importantly, what will you be wearing?
  10. Jeff Tweedy screwing up his face and singing it. For realz.
  11. Ha! that's funny. After I laughed so hard at your post that I had tears squirting out my eyes, I checked your 'Space" and looked at that video. And laughed some more. You have some interesting film in there.
  12. Yeah. That's it for me too. I trust the power of art to transcend the morass. You finished my thought. In all of this debate, trust is the word that kept coming up for me. But I couldn't get it right exactly. It wasn't about trust in "Wilco" or "Tweedy" or "Volkswagon". It was trust in the process. Trust in the power of art to move me and sometimes even change me. The impetus of the creative urge is pure. The activity of creation is pretty pure. It's the dissemination that can be a bit tricky.
  13. The thing is aliases are pretty easy for moderators to trace.
  14. "Advertising is the greatest art form of the twentieth century." Marshall McLuhan Here's the thing nickerson... Yes rampant consumerism is problematic. Yes, there are many people who see homes, cars, clothing etc. as a viable replacement for self worth. Duh. No brainer, bubba. I don't happen to personally subscribe to that philosophy. Nor do I watch television. Personal choice. The problem lies in the fact that you have allowed your own personal philosophy grow so disproportionately that you feel entitled to bludgeon others with it. In a perfect universe, artists (and their families if yo
  15. Years mired in bureaucracy will do that to a person. Good luck in your new gig, Lou. Being out and about has gotta count for something.
  16. Wow. Thank you! You all have a beautiful Wilco site.
  17. Why, I really wasn't being ironic at all.
  18. "The term 'didactic' refers to texts that are overburdened with instructive, factual, and/or otherwise "educational" information, sometimes to the detriment of a reader's enjoyment."
  19. That's the really cool thing about debate for me. Sometimes it stretches the boundaries of my brain box...shifts my paradigms, pushes the envelope, shakes the sheets.
