  9. Yeah yeah, post the mix. Now the rest of this you probably already know. Yacht Rock is the funniest thing on all the internets: http://www.channel101.com/shows/show.php?show_id=152 and its influence has spread to even some of the artists it parodies: http://www.seattleweekly.com/2007-08-22/mu...-kryptonite.php
  10. Permie, could you post it back up as a YSI? who knows, Yacht Rock has brought back Hall and Oates. Maybe this could bring back proto-metal.
  11. Bloodrock - D.O.A.! I love how their album names are just so simple - Bloodrock, Bloodrock 2, Bloodrock 3, Bloodrock Live!, Bloodrock and Roll It would be for comic relief. What a terrible terrible band and nothing sucks quite the way Bloodrock sucks. Party on dude.

  13. Love some of the comments about this record from various email friends/lists: 'Amy picked up the RK last night and we drove the whole disc. All I kept thinking is I couldn't wait to get home and watch some 70's full-bush soft-core.' 'It's a neck & neck race between this and that Steve Earle cover for suckiest song of the year.' actually this thing is starting grow on me, like an STD. No way this will ever be a purchase though.
  14. so nice to hear this sans mp3s. Reading that relatively, the NPs are more popular in the States that in Canada and that Newman really wanted to avoid the 'T-hip/Matthew Good' cancon ghetto. Smart guy.
  15. The Undesirables. (although after seeing them as a folk fest this past weekend, I thought I was looking at a young Mr. D'Arcy playing acoustic blues. Not undesirable. at all)
  16. Kris, you tried out Planetary? love the marvel vs dc/edgar rice burroughs/zane grey/jules verne/Doc Savage thing that went on. Think it's on its last issue. For instance Planetary's version of the FF is great:
  17. out of touch with all this stuff as well: favs: the collected Miracleman in 3 or 4 volumes: Planetary I don't know if you've read Maus or Shadow of no Towers but they are also incredible. and if you really like Alex Ross, Astro City has been going on forever http://www.astrocity.us/cgi-bin/index.cgi
