I ended up buying her drinks for (some) of the above concert. For a Woman, she drinks like a guy. Think Karen Allen in Raiders of the Lost Ark. -
BBC reporting it http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tees/7057812.stm 'The IT worker was led from his home in the town's Grange Road and is being questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and infringement of copyright law. At the same time his employer - a large multi-national company - and his father's home were also raided. ' also mentioned something about Oink being extremely lucrative. Wonder how. I'm not a user, but surely Google ads don't pay that much.

Thanks Drew! Hope she stops all this touring and drinking, releases an album and then starts up the touring and drinking again. -

sure, you've never heard of the Western Canadian Music Awards and you've never heard of Romi Mayes. well, I hope that changes, 'cause this girl is talented. 'Romi Mayes has been fortunate enough to win for both categories she was nominated in! Mayes wins for SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR and ROOTS RECORDING OF THE YEAR for The Western Canadian Music Awards! ' Romi is the second from the right. and this is Romi in action: http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=...videoid=7303061 and that is the back of my head in the above video. -
wow, this is strangely uplifting.

Will I follow you home again How's it feel to disappear Like seriously, disappear And take a stab from papa's spear Getting drunk on rotten air Bite my tongue I taste your blood Never thought that I could bite hard enough Eyes of fire in your skull Got the kind of eyes that burns Gooseflesh off.

Great! I gotta go get the Bon Iver disc. I remember listening to a stream and being very impressed. first listen. Certainly hear the whiskeytown comparisons. Good stuff.

It's a thread of Lyrics (and optionally related pictures) that one likes.

I think it depends on how much female fronted indie pop you like. For me, they are really on that border between irascibly cute and sort of irritating. For instance they all wear City of Guelph work shirts and seem to play instruments found on garbage days or in attics. Don't want to give you a bad impression though. Their concerts have been a lot of fun.

there's a lot to mine with all the proper releases and the side groups going back 20 years, like even Basil Dovovan plays bass with 3 or 4 other bands. Of all the side projects, I particularly like the Unintended with Keelor and the Sadies. Saw Cuddy this summer with Kathleen Edwards. She was great, he was only ok.

The elmo show was simply incredible. CFNY recorded it and played it to death. I went on the Nelson boards to nicely ask for the boot and got it last year. It doesn't sound as good as my long lost Maxell XLII recording from the radio, but good enough. Went back to the Elmo for The Heartless Bastards earlier this year and was hoping to get back upstairs to that wonderful room. No such luck.

wow, the things you find on blogs....

My fondest Elmo concert was Bill Nelson in 82 or 83. Not that famous a musician, but I really enjoyed that show.

Cool. I was there as well. First time hearing the band and to be honest they left no impression - but that was my problem. When Reckoning came out, I was all over it. Clash in 79 - I was 15 - Couldn't get into the bars, O'Keefe as close as I ever got.
