managed to listen to their 2003 (?) cd and it didn't move me enough to pick it up. Is the rest of the new one as good as the Myspace tracks? On to:

What did you do? Got a myspace post that Yacht Rock 11 is coming soon. Smooth.

geez, you're right that is a great song and it seems so immediate ...like he's making it up as he goes along. On Blue Fog just seems to be getting better and better.

Thanks. I used to love the band in the eighties. Can't say I've kept up.
-
but someone has put together an acoustic version of most of the tracks, I guess from b-sides. cool. 'Let's go and throw all the songs we know'

I think you've all touched on my reason to dislike Let it Die. That retro french Serge Gainsborough/Jane Birkin feel was a complete slimy turn off. On the Remainder it seems like she's actually singing rather than cooing. Doing things like getting Ron Sexsmith's input on Brandy Alexander did a lot as well.

Starbucks Christmas CD. yeah I know, posting a starbuck's christmas cd, but I love A Fine Frenzy's version of Let It Snow

Thinking the worst, Winehouse sickness = Cocaine, pills and a strange marital relationship Regina inner ear infection = Cocaine and vodka Meloy stomach flu = Oxycotin and verbosity

I think this might be the first time hearing it on a good stereo in about 20 years. It's great but I'm hearing all the humming, rather than just some.

It would be cool to have the vinyl wouldn't it? I met her mom at an instore a little while ago and we chatted about daughters and the weather. Picked up that Basia is pronouced 'Bash-a' in a very heavy Polish accent. So I love Bash-a's cd. NP - Weakerthans - Reunion Tour. Hope I don't burn myself out on it.

me too!

Just play this one out until it explodes Into one thousand tiny pieces What's your story universe You are melody in numbers You have shapes and you have rhythms There were signs that we can learn To place over the heavens To predict how long you will burn How long will I last Can I turn up the heat? What star am I circling What's circling me? Now my ebb and my flow My lack of control Turning on, turning off Saying yes, playing no Things keep changing Things keep changing Things keep changing

Thanks to the board Brits for the Holly Golightly feedback. Certainly like it a lot. What she could have done with Lee Hazelwood... (Maybe she actually did something with Lee Hazelwood, I dunno)

Another day, another Blender list

True. I fall down at 'Loveless' though, hearing it a couple times and never making a connection. I also don't see the attraction of the Misfits - but that's just me. Not that we need to play 'this is missing' or 'that should be raked higher' but I'd put Wrens - Meadowlands at Numero 1. -
Yes - very good actually. Some small squirmmy moments with some bad lyrics (there is a song about a relationship with an alegory to Nagasaki and Hiroshima), but the energy she puts out- fantastic. My favourite Edwards moment came 3 years ago at a Josh Ritter concert in Toronto. She got on stage for a song and Ritter told this story of being on an Irish celebrity TV show with Baby Spice. A cover of Chelsea Hotel was played and Edwards asked if Baby Spice gave him a 'uhh-huh' on an unmade bed. Think Ritter must have blushed 3 shades of red.
